In case anybody is interested... I have both got a refund for the offending "vacumm cleaner" and have yet to be served with papers by Hoover.

    It's all good.

There's always the other Hoover, (Herbert) who was 'damned' for allowing his people to live in 'Hoovervilles'...

Seriously, the word 'hoover'; can be used as a verb to describe the act of pushing a vacuum around.

I would have been more surprised if the OP had been referring to a Hoover - aren't they in a minority of a million different brands these days?

you do realise that these are rights under law - I would have thought with a 'reasonable grasp of the law' you would know what rights you do or don't have?

Overpriced, overrated, and just as prone to breaking as anything else. If not more so...

There's a Dyson where I work and the suction is terrible. The Henry is much better.

I can't think of one positive reason for posting that Blacksheep. The situation is done and dusted, info was given, a refund was got, problem sorted. Seems as if you just felt the need to have a dig?
