Yes it was, for the one Midnightraven made but looking back I see you didn't use any. Did you just splodge it on to the towel with your hands?0 -

Hi hun,
Pretty much you add your paper scraps, warm water to cover and blend so it's unrecognisable, if you want colour add in some coloured tissue...
The next part is about getting it as dry as possible so you can use the frame, (although thats too much hassle for me :rotfl:)
so sieve it and press the water out with the back of the spoon, then you shape it about on the towels, foam or on a bin bag (with towels underneath) :rotfl:then put another bag ontop and something heavy to press more water out of it :T let it dry and your done xBlogger / Money SaverMake £2022 in 2022 Challenge - Accepted0 -

gingerandrubarb wrote: »Hi,
this may seem like a silly questions but what is Snowman soup? and santa keys?ive heard a few people talk about snoman soup but didnt know what it was? :rotfl:
I think you've been given the link for snowman soup
Basically santa key is fo if you dont have a chimney. I think people generally use an old key and put a poem tag on but I like to make a key from think card or that think wood (which I cant remember the name of!!!!) and decorate it with glitter and sparkly bits (to suit the child leaving it our really)
Here is a link to a page with one poem on, there are a few floating about but I like this one.
We hang them on the front door with santa stop here signs (which is another thing I need to add to my to do list!) then Santa hangs the key on the tree when he leaves0 -

How's everyone else getting along with your lists?Blogger / Money SaverMake £2022 in 2022 Challenge - Accepted0 -
Hi everyone, I’ve been lurking on this thread until now but just thought I’d list what I’m making for Christmas this year. I’ve set a £15 budget per person for ‘bought gifts’ but I’m hoping to top this up with homemade gifts, we’re quite an extravagant family when it comes to Christmas (and I make sure I save up through the year to afford it!) so this year I’m trying to keep the same standard of presents but adding the homemade touch to hopefully save some money.
I’m hoping, no GOING to make –
Advent calendar – already started, one of those felt Christmas trees that you hang a miniature decoration on each day, saves me eating chocolate every day on the run up to Christmas, and I’m looking forward to making the decorations out of Fimo.
Faux Crystal tree decorations (if I can make enough I will be giving these as presents in sets of six or eight)
Christmas cakes (bean tin Christmas cakes iced by hand and then decorated with marzipan figurines (or possibly fimo because then they can be re-used!)
Fudge, lemon curd, truffles, flavoured vodka and whisky, and a plaster of paris pawprint of my mums beloved dog, with a framed picture of her as a keepsake (she really is her new baby now we have all flown the nest!)
And that’s all I can think of for now. At least I’ve got a headstart on the advent calendar, the crystal decorations and the Christmas cakes (I’m stewing fruit and collecting the bean tins ready for baking) so hopefully I will get most of it done.
Oh and I’m also hoping to make at least a couple of home made wreaths a la ‘Kirstie’s Homemade Christmas’. Wow, now its all down on paper I’m a little worried – how do you fit it all in??0 -

KSB235 Good for you and welcome to the handmade thread, :rotfl: no pun intended. Were all lovely so if you need any help then just let us know.:D
Your list sounds fabby, I know you can make christmas cakes well in advance to give them time to mature so that should take some stress out in the run up for the santa visit :j
Have you made fudge before? I have a super easy recipe for fudge that is scrummy, plus you can add things like vanilla, nuts, raisins, or do vanilla and chocolate fudge on the top etc..
Do you want me to post it hunny?Blogger / Money SaverMake £2022 in 2022 Challenge - Accepted0 -
