gingerandrubarb wrote: »KSB235 Good for you and welcome to the handmade thread, :rotfl: no pun intended. Were all lovely so if you need any help then just let us know.:D
Your list sounds fabby, I know you can make christmas cakes well in advance to give them time to mature so that should take some stress out in the run up for the santa visit :j
Have you made fudge before? I have a super easy recipe for fudge that is scrummy, plus you can add things like vanilla, nuts, raisins, or do vanilla and chocolate fudge on the top etc..
Do you want me to post it hunny?
Oh I would like the fudge recipe if you dont mind? It would make a great little addition to gifts.0 -
Not a problem, generally i get those tray bake metal throw away ones from poundland
Fudge
300ml milk (full fat works best)
350g caster sugar
100g butter
1 tsp flavouring (or 3 drops for Lorann flavouring)
What to do
*Grease an 18in tray or metal tray
*Put milk, sugar and butter into a pot and melt, stirring until all the sugar has melted
*Bring to the boil for around 15 mins stirring continuosly
*When mix reaches soft ball stage or 115 degrees on a thermometer take off the heat
*Add your flavouring
*Leave to cool for 5 minutes
*Beat mixture until it looks smooth and glossy
*Pour into tin and leave to cool (DO NOT put into the fridge)
*Cut and store. :j
It's super easy and tastes reaaaallly good, like thorntons vanilla fudge :TBlogger / Money SaverMake £2022 in 2022 Challenge - Accepted0 -
Welcome KSB!
I've decided what I'm going to do for my boyfriend for Christmas. He's moving into a single room in a shared building (so several tennents share bathrooms and kitchens) so he's not going to have a lot of room. So I decided to buy a simple photo frame, take a photograph of myself holding up a message and insert it. I'm going to decorate the frame with interchangable images. I'll try and explain: I'm going to print off and cut out small images, photographs and messages, mount them onto thin card and attach velcro to the back. I'll put the other side of the velcro in various places around the frame! So he can swap and change the decorations on the frame. It's quite a simple idea but I think he'll like it and I'm quite excited to put it all together! I'll probably get him a couple of small bits too to go with it but I've not thought about that yet.0 -

toile is beautiful fabric and i think with something like Michael Millers fairy frosts it may just set your toile off beautifully, i was looking at his fabrics today as the seller i got the wizard of oz fabric sells it, i dont know if you can get it here, but you will be able to get something very similar if not
it looks like this

It might just spur me on to start the homemade gifts this weekend!! I'm starting to collect jars/bottles to put my homemade wares in and I got some sticky labels with handmade by... on them which should start me off.
Brilliant ideas and support on here. Like having like minded friends all in one place!Married in 2016. Bought our first home in 2017. Expecting our first baby in November 2017
