A few websites I use for ideas:
    http://www.craftbits.com/christmas-crafts

    http://www.marthastewart.com/photogallery/easy-holiday-crafts

http://www.channel4.com/4homes/on-tv/kirstie-s-homemade-home/ -there are some links to the other show 'kirstys home made christmas'. I still have all of her shows recorded! Watching them makes me feel christmassy!

And an old thread from MSE https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1995035

I'm sorry to be a complete numpty but I can't find the bit where Kirstie made some xmas tree hanging decorations, using wire and beads. PLEASE will you point me in the right direct?:o

    Great idea :T
I read somewhere that you have to use an art package to reverse the image so it prints right, :(unfortunately my pants computer doesn't have one, but the iron transfers are a great idea, would be fab for canvased and cushions too!
Theirs also a liquid you can get (liquid sculpey & Dylon make them) that you can paint onto images (newspapers, books etc) and it copies the image so you can add it to fabrics or metals, woods etc, would be a good idea if you wanted to add a bionicles image onto the metal prior to stamping ? or a photo etc.. x

    Dylon one (also on Ebay)http://www.dylon.co.uk/products/craft/image-maker/
    Liquid Sculpey one's (ebay too ) :heart2:

I love that idea! Hadn't thought about the reverse image bit, but that makes total sense. Hmmm  We're about to inherit an Apple Mac soon from a graphic designer, so it should have some useful packages loaded onto it perhaps? I'll get my son to speak to his college tutor to see if he can use something there in the meantime.

I've really picked the ball up and run with it today, as I've just found a cute little recipe for White Christmas Fudge, which looks soooo pretty. I think it'll look gorgeous in a celo bag, tied up with a bow. Here's the recipe: http://www.tasteofhome.com/Recipes/White-Christmas-Fudge
(quantities are in American Cups, but if you need a conversion, I use this one on Nigella's site because it's UK/USA friendly : http://www.nigella.com/recipes, click on 'Equivalents & Conversions'
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home
  • i bought the transfer paper on ebay
and did my 3 lots of t shirts

i dont have any fancy software
but my son reversed the writing etc for me

soon as he comes in i shall ask him how
i know for sure he did it on this lappy
as i still have a lot of the images

daughter went through a betty boop phase
i did her lots of t shirts ( i know copyright:(, my bad)

but she did the tranfers for her friends as well
    we bough black & white
and bought loads of primark t shirts
we bought them for tye dying too

so you got a really funky t shirt for less than £3
  • I have just read all this thread! I now have a list as long as my arm! Fab ideas.
I was thinking of making a pom pom scarf as anyone made one before?

    beaded/wire ornaments (star,cane,wreath) http://www.craftideas.info/html/bead_ornaments.html

Yarn Xmas Trees, (these are super cute, i might just give these a go too :rotfl:)http://pretty-ditty.blogspot.com/2009/12/yarn-christmas-trees-tutorial.html

Do you all plan to make your decoratins/ornaments also? Has anyone considered wraping gifts and what type of wrapping paper yet? :rotfl:I'm really fussy with paper, I fancied using newspaper with stamped images like xmas trees or something? not sure though x

  • Awh the Christmas decorations are gorgeous! I really like the yarn Christmas trees, I'm going to have to put that on my to do list!

I'm going to wrap all my presents with brown paper this year and tie with brown string I want them to look really old fashioned.

ginger - can you order a second lot of fabric samples from that link ? I ordered one lot........super they are and would love some more

Think I'm going to have another go at my twig christmas tree this year.......did it last year with some dogwood stems stuck into oasis in a terracotta pot and chillis and fir cones hanging off it -it was ok but the stems were a bit weak so need to use something a bit sturdier.

Super ideas on here..............think I'll have to keep some for next year.......never get them all done
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

  • reversing an image is way easier than i though
way easier than any of us thinks:rotfl:

    Go into word
    “insert” image
    Your image will appear
Go to one side, as if you want to shrink it
Pull over to the opposite side, as if you want to make it as thin as you possibly can,
    Keep going, all the way
Voila, your image is now reversed
