ginger - thanks for that.......small problem.......haven't got a blender -mind you keep saying we'll get one for making soups....easier than keep using a sieve.
Would it work with paper that had been through a shredder ?
They do look lovely when they're done:T

hmm, not sure OP, i suppose if they pieces are extra small or if you cup them with scissors it may work? have you asked freecycle for a blender or handblender ? I'm sure they are about £5 in Argos, but freecycle or freegle's your best bet?
You can also add in bits of string as the (if blending) as the fibres make it tougher x

  • That's the handmade seed tutorial on my blog now, it's easier to follow and has the images of the tags and the actual seeds growing, take a peek here http://rubarbandginger.blogspot.com/2010/08/handmade-paper-tutorial.html x

  • Ahha! I love the seed tags. I probably won't do them with seeds in them but I love the idea of making tags out of pulpy paper! I was going to add tags to my handmade presents but was thinking of using cardboard. This'll look much more effective. I'll put bits of dried herbs in them or something to make them look/smell nice :)
  • i posted on the weddings section the other day how i made my seed paper
i do have the frames & gauze
but you can make them easily with 2 photoframes (the same size)

i make cards with wild flower seeds
but i also make discs or flowers
the same size as the top of a flower pot
    i then bag some compost
place the disk on the top
    and cello
i make these with herbs & chilli seeds for people who dont have gardens

a simple & cheap present that always makes people smile
  • the thread is here
i posted a couple of photos
