wow what a great thread. I have only just found you so a little late to start creating master pieces for this christmas but already have a little list for next year. cant wait to see all the new ideas and to get started for next year. I would normally worry about being shouted at now for even thinking about next year before this one is even here but i am sure a lot of you are already mulling over ideas as well so feel safe:)

  • Brilliant scarf saphireeye! I would love to receive one, think your mum will be really pleased. I too have made 2 scarves, my first attempt also, but they are for 2 teddys I picked up in poundland! so are considerably smaller than your's.

Your monkey's are the best I have seen, they are so cute, do you have instructions for me to follow? Thanks.

I love this thread, I found it too late in the year, but will be super organised for Christmas 2011! :T
🎄The most wonderful time of the year 🎄
  • Just found this recipe for chocolate body scrub, sounds lovely and a perfect female pressie. Going to make some for my sisters I think :)

Thanks :) Have you seen the sock monkey thread? There are monkeys on there that definitely put mine to shame! I used these instructions which I got from that thread: http://www.santaspostbag.co.uk/how-to-make-sock-monkeys-christmas-toy.shtml

I quickly realised that I'd have to use the sock the other way up though or the sock pattern would end up upside down as with the christmas tree monkey!

I have taken photos but I have lost my lead for my camera! My partners laptop has a card reader slot but he has taken it offshore with him so will have to wait until he gets back. Hopefully January but could be Feb :(

Loving all these crafty threads. I've had so much inspiration and managed to make quite a few bits for Christmas. As soon as I can post photos I will add them to my homepage.

    Thanks everyone!

I've finally got some of my stuff made, and here are the latest bits I've done:

    DSC01774.jpg

Mini chocolate 'pud' muffins, topped with plain chocolate & white chocolate

My 1st attempts at Snowman Soup. I found some very cheap Cath Kidston mugs locally, and put them in there. I bought cello bags from Sainsburys, rather than the Lakeland cones, so had to adapt my ingredients being packaged accordingly. I had some large sheets of cello salvaged from a bouquet I got ages ago, and have used that to make cones, which have been filled with the choc powder. Adopt, adapt and improve, as the old saying goes!

Some chocolate lovehearts I've made from tempered chocolate, topped with chocolate & pistachios. I used some of these in my Snowman Soup packs, and will include some in my boxes of truffles & fudge I'm making later this week.

    Chocolate swizzle sticks

Mini Christmas cakes, that I've yet to ice.... I have to admit they've turned out a lot taller than I expected, so may even cut them in half and ice them. Alternatively I could turn them into post boxes I suppose!

    DSC01503-1.jpg
Here are a couple of the covered notebooks/diaries I've done too.

These items are all going to go into hampers for my sisters/bro-in-laws.

  • snowmanpoop.jpg I've been busy making snowman soup and today I tried making some snowman poop for the first time. Just made it for my own kids this year but might make it again next year for nieces and nephew.
