Sorry, that first bit was a quote from ChocClare - not sure why it didn't appear in that nice little blue box. Anyone know what I did wrong?
You managed to delete the quote bit from the start - if you edit the post and add
to the start it will go into a box (but not link back to her original message - that takes a bit more fiddling ;))

hi all well i done my shopping with My Supermarket last night and mr A came out the cheapest so had my delivery today which was an hour and half late  they didnt bother to ring me and let me know. I called the call centre 3 times and they couldnt get through to the store but eventually one did, the store person phoned me and all he offered was free delivery next time :( felt like telling him where to poke it. Anyway it came to £42.52 including delivery so will update sig :)

I was supposed to go into town today to Mr T's but couldn't be bothered so will probably go tomorrow & have a little walk around the market as well.

Good evening ladies -hope everyone is well....

Thankyou SPIGGLE :Dfor reminding folks to make their budgets nice and clear, I do tend to skim and only stop if I see numbers in bold :p -those not on the list -I will update in a moment ;)

Well we have been out and done another "top up shop" €50 later :o... althought €20 of that was on 54lt of sparkling water  -perhaps I shouldn't be such a guzzle guts :rotfl:... oohh and when I think about it I am a b*gger for buying things that I don't need right now -but I will take them whilst they have them..so there is a new bag of salmon fillets and smoked haddock, minced beef, pork, turkey etc that I don't technically need yet -but hey ho :p

I did home made burgers, wedges and salad for dinner -SW style of course and they were scrummy ...Im becoming addicted ;)

I realised today that hubby will be travelling back to the UK for a few days in a couple of weeks -so I need to check "mysupermarket" and make him a list of things to bring back :D-so that will bump the spends up...but save us in the long run... Im trying to think of any wintery food items etc as i doubt he will go back again for a while...
Anyway -thats far too much waffle from me. I will get off and update the list..
    Sleep well everyone :D

  • Had to shop for mum so picked up some bargainous reductions in Morrisons while I was about it.
Another £7.97 spent but the freezer has some lovely fresh bakery items stored away to help make the meals feel 'treaty' this month. :)

    AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE   £115.93/ £250

  • Page 18 of this thread already! Thanks as always to Pinkwinged and all for setting it up.

I finished August with £7.21 left over, which I put in my sealed pot. This month I'll keep to the same target, so please put me down for £60 again.

Went to Mr S. on Wednesday night and did a bit of a stock-up, but only spent £19.62, so have £40.38 left in my housekeeping purse. This works well for me, keeping it in a separate purse I mean.

This month again I have quite a lot in my store cupboards and fridge, and will have organic veg and fresh milk delivered, both paid for by Direct Debit. I don't have a freezer as such, just a freezer compartment at the top of my fridge. I use it mainly to store slices of HM bread to make it last, and the very occasional pack of frozen veg (rare in this establishment), also my current pack of ground coffee.

Grew just one container of seed potatoes this year, and dug it out a couple of days ago - not a great yield, about 5lbs - but nice fat spuds which are delicious. I was a bit wary, as last year my spuds got blight (as did my tomatoes), so grew just these few spuds and NO tomatoes (first time for many years). My pear tree is absolutely laden with fruit by the way, now almost ripe, so have started eating them.

Good luck with September's challenge everyone!

Will edit my sig. in a minute.
Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!

Just spent £5.55 at budgens on clipper coffee, dark choc digestives, apples, and reduced sausages, potatoes in herb butter and broccoli/cauliflower. Just happened to go in late and bagged some reduced goodies for 39p each! There was a huge chicken for 1.69 but I have no need for it, where as the rest will be eaten this weekend.
Seeing as budgens is so close and they kindly put all the reduced stuff together, I have no qualms about popping in there occasionally and getting a few bargains. Still, Mr A in Kingston reduces ALL the baked goods to 10p

£11.59 so far but my kitchen is now buldging after moving in with a few bags of beans on saturday :D
Living cheap in central London :rotfl:
  • Just had a £63 big spend at Mr S which leaves me £3 over budget for the first week. But we bought: wine and beer, a couple of the 1/2 price dental deals, a curry ready meal box, bogof original source shower gel, loads of coke and my work lunches for next week. And 12 cans of dog food too! So I think not only have we cut it down so much from before the GC challenge days, but we got lots of bargains too!

    I love this thread!

Well, my 1st 3 days of the September challenge have all been spend days, as will tomorrow be as I need milk and broccoli :naughty: .....maybe Sunday will be a NSD (where's a smiley with rolling eyes when you need one)

Spends so far this week £36.63 out of £275 budget. Not too bad considering that includes 2 tins of $limfast.

Got the first of my two main online shops of the month next week, so things will be looking much worse next week I have no doubt ;)

    How's yourself & hubby Spiggle?

Welcome to all the newcomers
