I doubt it unless you can find out exactly what the executable file does, I know it must automatically create directories on your psp and transmit the files over into the relevant directories for the exploit, but havent tried it yet.

If you do however have a copy of GTA Liberty City you could download (find it on google) and use the game save exploit for downgrading without a USB cable.....

For this you would need a card reader that reads memory stick duo pro media, put the game save exploit in the relevant directory.

Otherwise unfortunately you will need a USB cable, unless you haven't realised you may have a digital camera/phone/mp3 player with the same sort of USB cable, the connectors are quite common.

Hope this is of some help.

Yep, I have a usb cable that will fit it. Any idea how I tell which Mobo this machine has? I've upgraded to 2.71. Now for the rest, which I don't want to do until I'm certain I won't turn the machine into a brick due to it being the wrong mobo.

    Ta :D

That is self explanotory, basically when you look at your PSP from behind ejecting the UMD slot, just make sure that there is no text on the right hand side saying IC1003, if that is there DO NOT ATTEMPT AT ALL!!

I am just in the process now of downgrading my wife's PSP, Using the 2.5-2.6 GTA exploit and its just this second finished and worked perfectly.

The executables found here http://psp.xtrusion.es/en/ work brilliantly and even have online tutorial through your PC, download the one for V2.71 run it, and follow the instructions and really you cannot go wrong, let us know how you get on..fingers crossed you have a none ta-082 motherboard, homebrew is such fun. Once downgraded, look for a utility called Devhook for emulating latest firmware, google and I am sure you will find some good PSP forums for helping with relevant software so you can emulate latest firmware and play all the latest games whilst keeping v1.5 firmware on your machine for running homebrew.....read, learn and enjoy!!!

Oh, excellent! It worked!! My PSP is now version 1.5!!Homebrew here I come!

Can't thank you enough for this. I gave up last night trying to find a way of getting my 2.60 version to play homebrew. Saw an exploit, but really wanted a downgrade to 1.5

    Thanks!

For those who have no idea what we're talking about, google "PSP Homebrew" :D

Yet another satisfied user much to Sonys annoyance, great news, now just install Devhook firmware emulation, else some of your UMD's wont run without more recent firmware, and then the rest of your homebrew you can run from your memory card :D

Downloading Devhook full 1.1 as we speak. I take it installation of Devhook is explained in the downloaded files?

    Cheers :D
