GBA games and DS games not in the charts top 10 or whatever tend to have a sticker on them. Sometimes this sticker is incorrect. Thats where the r&r comes in. You just have to do what we do... scan EVERY single game in the store with a sticker on with the price scanner and hope 2 find 1 that scans higher than the stickered price. EASY r&r NO PROBLEMS

Thanks, but the problem is most of us don't have access to a working scanner !
Hence if you said that the sel/sticker was 14.94, but scanned at 19.97, then it would be helpful. If any of us see a sel or sticker LOWER than 19.97, we know we are onto a mis-price.

I don't expect you to name the store - I never tend to do that unless I am on an 'away' trip, I feel paranoid about Tescos as it is

I even had a dream last night about the cs staff at my local - aarghhh I think I need therapy :p

Thinking about going back to my local today and getting the PSP. A little undecided though as this store is literally a 2 minute walk from my house and is rather handy for our weekly shop -don't want to get banned or anything!
  • Re: Doritos (where the BBQ ones don't have the 2 for £2 offer coming off).

Went to CS to tell them about the overcharge. They came running back with ALL the different flavours of Doritos, scanned them and told me that the offer 'should' be 3 for £2 and that the SEL's were wrong.

So I decided to just take another bag and not bother with the refund, then CS woman scanned them all again and said "Ok you owe US £1 then" !!
Price woman looked a bit shocked and asked why?
On the CS till the offer was 3 bags for £3, not 3 bags for £2 (or 2 bags for £2 like on shelf) ..... none of them knew what to do :)

So I politely asked for my refund (as I was in a hurry) and wandered off with £2 cash (eventhough I paid on my card) and my Doritos swinging in my bag :)

    (1st R&R for me !! ;D )

Basically, the POS is wrong...again. The tills are right in that if you buy 3 packs you get them for £3. However, the POS says 2 for £2, which means no discount will kick in at the till. Yet again, another HO error.

It's time to make that change.

I use my local store for research more than r+r, they have 2 working scanners 1 of which is next to the entertaintment section so I dont have very far to walk with a load of games. I find the misprices then go to the other stores to find them. I have r+r'ed in this store but not for anything big. Because its my local if I was to be banned it would make life difficult.

The game is over on the great console R&R

All the stores are removing posters about consoles and game of the week, I will be very surprised if anyone finds any out there this week.

Alot of stores removed last weeks posters yes but esterday the offers changed so the new ones went up, I have seen 2 different ones though, he first store had chart posters but no mention of the £10 or £20 off for buying GOTW and the console it just told us what GOTW was. That was an extra store.
The other store (my local) I went to has the normal posters with the offers and showing the GOTW but there are still some mistakes on them and where the yellow SEL is o the game for the 360.

Game on I think, normal service is resumed I think I will try for a 360 today if I find another store with the same posters and SEL's.

I called CS today, they rang me back and told me they had called the store and instructed them to issue the full R&R. I went to the store after work and asked for the guy CS had told me would issue the R&R. He started to issue the refund but had a problem and went to speak to another member of staff. He came back 5 mins later and told me that his manager had told him to not issue the refund. I called CS and they (again) told the store to issue the full R&R. The guy in the store couldn't/wouldn't as his manager had told him not too. At this point I'd been in the store 45 mins, I tried to call CS again but it was after 6 and they had closed. I asked to speak to the store manager, he came down and I told him the whole story, he said he couldn't issue the full refund unless he spoke to CS himself and could I return to the store tomorrow.

I'm going to ring CS myself tomorrow @ 9.00 (do they open earlier ?) and kick up a right fuss, the store has been told twice to issue the R&R but still refused.

Funny thing is, while I was waiting for the manager another customer was waiting because she'd been overcharged on a case of beer, I made damm sure I informed her of the R&R policy :D

Edit - Whats the name of the best person @ CS to speak to about this ?

Just a quick update on this. CS have spoken to the store this morning and they are still refusing to issue the full R&R :(. CS have said they cannot override the store on this. The store will only refund the £20 (as they claim it was only the airtime voucher that was overcharged). CS are going to send me a £69 gift card so I guess its a win of sorts.

I'm in two minds wheter to report them to TS / ASA and write and a letter of complaint to Sir Terry

How much did you pay for the phone? Sounds to me like the store won't listen to CS, so CS is sending you the refund. The store will then be reprimanded by HO for failure to adhere to company policy. I would report the store to TS and ASA.

It's disgusting that the store refused to budge even when told to refund by CS. This is exactly what I meant yesterday when I was explaining to people who were waiting for call backs over the consoles why they had to wait. CS in Dundee often find they have to argue with the stores to get them to refund, especially when it's a large amount. Store bonuses are affected by it, thus the managers really don't want to do it. Also, when it's down to bad housekeeping in-store, the managers will do anything to hide it. Your case is down to poor housekeeping - the store is at fault for leaving up out of date POS.

If you are willing to settle for £69 can I suggest that you ask for the £69 in club card points (6900) as this would mean that you could use it for upto £276 in DEALS which you can spend either on hols, days out or even MFI for things like washing machines ;)

    Yep :)

    It went from:
    2 for £2 on SEL
3 for £2 on price womans screen
3 for £3 on CS screen

 no-one knew what they were doing !!
  • How much did you pay for the phone?
The phone plus the airtime was £89.99. The store is going to refund me £20 and CS £69 (via a giftcard)
I would report the store to TS and ASA.
How do I go about doing this, and would they be interested because it looks like the store had left up an out of date offer poster
