Just sitting down - am flagging now after being up so early :o
Completely forgot about a friends birthday party for her son so ended up quickly dashing off to that at lunchtime :o If I had a brain I'd be dangerous LOL.
Just come back from blackberry picking - managed to pick just over a 1lb worth so not bad for free. Would really like to have a go at making some jam but suspect I'll need significantly more than what I've got. Do you think I can freeze what I've got until I am ready to have a go at jam???

Had a couple of heavy showers but H has just decided to risk hanging out the washing (he's well trained that man ;))

OK need a coffee and then need to make some twinks. Have a good afternoon :)

EG - Well done on your exam result x

So much for snuggling down! Popped to Mt T's and got some casserole steak and sausage meat reduced so the steak is in the slow cooker and the sausage got mixed with stuffing and make 3 big pies, a saucer pie and a ramekin of left over meat with a pastry top. Have some pastry made in the fridge which I'll use to make a steak and onion pie for DH when he gets in from work at 9.

Made some Jam tarts with DD too and the littler ones have just had pie and beans for their dinner - clean plates all round :D

DS2 has just stuck his head in the kitchen to ask for money for a subway and i'm surrounded by food!! my second word was 'Off' ;)

went for a quick blackberry pick on my way home from work - didnt get much, but enough for a blackberry and apple pie :)
I was angry at work today though. They told me and my OH (we work at the same place) a year ago, that we couldnt have today off because there was no leave available and we were desperately needed. It's my auntie's 65th birthday and the family are having a surprise party for her tonight down in Kent. I really wanted to go. (my entire family live in Kent, and I hardly get to see them - last time was a year ago for my Uncle's funeral :-()
I took 2 calls in 4 hours this morning, OH took the same. At 12.30 they took us off the phone because it was so quiet and had us putting letters in envelopes ready to send out. They KNEW it would be this quiet because it always is on a Saturday, and I have to miss a big family occasion because of that. ARGH.

    Evening all

I had a good day. Bought shoes and a bath mat from Primark (exciting life I lead!). I'm making pizza and wedges (slimming world friendly ones) for tea and they will be ready in 5mins so will have those and watch X Factor :)

I've done 3 loads of washing today, and have 2 more to do over weekend. Although this does include bedding, dressing gown and work tea towels!! finger's crossed for more sunshine.

I'm hoping to go blackberry picking tomorrow but I've just realised I don't have the pass to the country park and can't get hold of it :( so will either have to pay £5 to get in, or walk from the main entrance which is a half hour walk.....I'm planning on walking it but there had better be some good blackberries!!

  • Back again!

In a bit of a sulk at the moment, spent all day at home, waiting for a parcel to be delivered, full of books that I need for next week at uni. I even paid extra for them to guarantee a Saturday delivery, so that I wouldn't be rearranging delivery or trying to find a depot to collect it from, and they haven't been! The deliver window was 7am-5pm, so didn't manage to get into town to pick up my veggies and fresh bits either, so I'll have to do it from a supermarket now rather than the little grocers in town, as he doesn't open Sundays, and is closed for the bank holiday on Monday. I've done all my hoovering and cleaned the kitchen, but still a little annoyed, don't like feeling like I've wasted a day.

Got cake in the oven now, having already made flapjack and rocky road today, and got a bowl of cookie dough waiting to go in when the cakes come out - planning on splitting it all up and putting them into bags with enough for a week in, ready for pack ups for this month at uni. Just building up the courage to have another go at bread now, after the impressive failure earlier in the week... Seen "About a Boy"? I reckon my bread rolls could do similiar damage if I tried to feed the ducks with them... ;)

Frustratingly, their call centre closed at 2 today - I tried to ask them for an estimated delivery time... I've emailed them with a complaint, and asking for a refund on the excess postage. Whether it'll get me anywhere or not is a different matter! Fingers crossed I can get it sorted early next week
