Sacked! For the atmosphere in the office

What a ridiculous story, and so symptomatic of modern life.
Here we have a person effectively losing their job because two (sorry to say this, but it's true) immature people - a supervisor and their staff member - got into a childish fight by email, txt and bloody Facebook.
Perhaps if one or the other of you actually TALKED to each other face to face, rather than relying on electronic messaging, this wouldn't have happened.
Hey, people, let's talk to each other, shall we?Bank Charges won £4,800 in 2006 From LloydsTSB

Last week I was called into the office of my bosses, as I'm a temp member of staff I was given a contract to sign and bosses said they was happy with my work and wanted to take me on fulltime. The contract was signed and due to start on 1st September.
The previous day to this my supervisor put the a statment on my facebook basically saying all I did all day was sit and do my nails and straighten my hair, and maybe I should come to work one day to earn a living... I was so mad as it was uncalled for and not true, I deleted the post and emailed her to say I'd done so as it was uncalled for (we were friends and went out together outside of work)
She text me saying I was over reacting and to get over myself! I let it go as I had my contract meeting the next day.
When I got into work on the Wednesday and had my contract interview we weren't speaking, she was making snide comments about when friends desert you etc, but I ignored her. As I was leaving I failed to say goodbye to anyone in the office due to being so upset re the atmosphere of the day, when I had gone she said (and two people told me) that I hadn't signed my contract yet, and I wanna watch myself, then called me a !!!!! in front of the whole office.
I text her after I was told and said to her if she has a problem with me then she should take me to one side and not slate me in front of the office. She sent me a message on facebook telling me she was disappointed in my attitude and she was a good supervisor and she couldn't control me no more.
Went into work on the Thursday and she went in early so I knew something was going on. A bit later in the morning I was called into the MD's office where he and the Manager were sat. They told me to tell me the story from my own point of view, So i kept to the facts and didn't get upset. They were both obviously not going to listen to me, she had told them that everyone in the office had a problem with me at one time or another which wasn't true! They hadn't even spoken to the people I worked with and when I pointed this out they dismissed me and said they had to think about what to do and sent me back to my desk.
About 15mins later, the two MD's asked me back into the office and again asked me to explain myself, I told them again what she'd said about me in the office and on facebook. They then said that I've caused an atmosphere and they wanted me to go there and then.
I went totally gutted I'd lost my job! I heard from a few people after I left that she went into the MD's after my meeting with them re the contract and said that I was not happy with my wages and was only signing the contract to get the job! Just wasn't true as we eren't even on talking terms.
I feel gutted that someone suddenly takes a dislike to you and you're out of a job.
I have no rights as I was a temp, but does it count for anything that they had signed a contract with me the day before? It was not due to commence till the 1st Sept, but surely the fact they was offering me perm work would mean they was happy with my work? This was a personal vendetta for what ever reason I've no idea. One of the other temps was Buddy Buddy with the supervisor and they weren't happy I'd been given a perm job and she wasn't. I reckon she's probably sat in my chair now with a perm contract.
Go and knock her out i would, or better still go shag her boyfriend..lol0 -
I have just had my contract and due to me being a 'temp' it states that I didn't have to have any notice from the 'employers' they can decide when I go! That can't be right can it?

It also rather begs the question of what ACAS are doing. They cannot "mediate" between you and the other party if the other party isn't your employer. Which they can't be because if they employed you directly, even as a temp, you would be entitled to a weeks notice. Similarly, you cannot go to a tribunal for wages that aren't owed to you. So what exactly are ACAS going to do - because the one thing that is certain is that you certainly could be dismissed or terminated, or whatever has happened here.0

It’s kind of funny that Chuckley should mention stalkers, because that was just what I was thinking. About DVardysShadow. I should have said this before, but I was too worried about ending up with a tongue-lashing from DVS myself, and now I have registered another user name for the site because I am a regular poster here and don’t want to end up being stalked across the site for saying this.
DVardysShadow, you need to get over yourself. SarEl is right. Ever since she started posting here you have been making barbed comments and jibes aimed at her. For no reason at all that I can think of. Your attack on her a few days ago was totally uncalled for. It was nasty, vindictive and petty. You were not satisfied with that, because you also had to have the last word no matter what. And I don’t know what others reading it thought but I thought that your final post was nothing less than a threat, which I took to mean that you had identified who she really is and would use this forum to damage her professional reputation. If you can, because I really think you over rate yourself if you think that somebody like you can damage someone’s reputation by identifying a barrister who is doing nothing but helping and advising people on a free forum. And of course you really should be careful of such threats because blackmail is illegal in this country. SarEl showed herself as the better person by saying that she was stopping the exchange and doing so, but you couldn’t leave it at that.
So here you are stalking her around the board and continuing your campaign of nasty comments and bullying. It’s funny too that you are so keen to direct people’s attention to that thread, which in your position I would not be so keen to do because it really doesn’t show you off in a good light. Why not direct them to the thread Appealing against Dismissal which was posted on 30th August 2010? In case you have forgotten it that would be the later thread where you wrongly advised someone on the law and SarEl corrected your comments. And she did so without any comment about your being wrong and without any nasty comments to or about you. Who is the better person here?
You are acting like a hysterical child who has had their toys taken off them. SarEl gives good and valuable advice to people who need it. People come here for advice. That’s the point of asking for it, to get it. If they or you don’t like that advice or anything else, then just don’t read it or ignore it. But you don’t have any rights more than anyone else on this site, and you don’t get to tell people what they can and can’t post, what they should say, or whether they can post or not. But stalking her around the site and trying to goad her into replying in kind just isn’t on. You are showing yourself up and nobody else. Get over yourself and leave it out.
And I don't have any beef about being wrong. Unfortunately, it looks like I have to be right about things I was wrong about in order to make my point about totally other things.
SarEl's advice is from a limited perspective and is usually right from that perspective. SarEl only sees what has gone wrong enough to get a solicitor involved [she is a barrister iirc]. Maybe I am mistaken, but I am seeing less of the knowledgeable people around now SarEl is here. That concerns me.
Thanks anyway for the opportunity to restate my point.
PSI felt that SarEl was fully compos mentis when making the comment I responded to and very likely knew I would notice.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
