Have you been with Halifax for a fair amount of time?"He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,

yeah, for 9 years, since i was 14, and thsi is my 2nd student account with them (due to havign to take 2 years off coz of being ill) im in 3rd year now and i have no intention of getting into debt to the tune of that much then getting stung with overdraft charges come next august, when they hassle me i instead ask them to check that its fixed at £0 and leave it at that. they seem absolutely obsessed with gettign me into debt, if its not for an overdraft im being asked to open various different cc's. my oh left uni with quite a big overdraft and the fees are a fortune whilst hes still paying it off, as are his cc fees. it makes me so mad how much credit they push at students, especially 1st years. for most people its their first time away from home and they see it as 'free money' only to be saddled with thousands of pounds worth of extra debt they needn't have had once they graduate. a mate of mine had 2 overdrafts and 4 cc's, at its greatest his debt was over £10,000, (not including his student loan!), how could they let it get that far? keep lending him money? awful.:T The best things in life are FREE! :T0 -

I guess you could enjoy getting the freebies like me0 -

i cant be bothered mucking about with money in that way (i assuem you mean stoozing?) when it only equates to £2 odd a week, id rather put my energies into my business which is mainly blagging freebies from dept stores etc. and floggign them on ebay, much more profitable!!:T The best things in life are FREE! :T0 -
im surprised halifax havent been taken to ofcom or someone about this! I know of no 1 friends wise or online who has the £2750 in the first year. Surely its false advertising?0

Again, I do not know of anyone who hasn't been given the full OD... They act in the same manner to other banks - IIRC HSBC are the only bank who guarentee a minimum OD amount...
If they can prove people get it, then it is not false advertising.
Their website clearly states:
