If smacking works, how come they have to smack more than once or twice? Smacking their kids is just an outlet for THEM, nothing to do with whats good for the kids.:hello:  please play nicely children !0

OMG that angela woman !!!!!! !!! those poor poor kids
she is like a psycho woman possessed !!
i hope she locks her bedroom door of a night time otherwise i think she may find herself brown bread and buried under the patio lol ,seriously though she is doing so much harm to her kids and not just physically
i am glad the couple with 2 boys decided to stop smacking, couldnt believe it when he got whacked legs when @ the dinner table !!!0 -
I also watched this and found it very upsetting. I'm a mother of two girls, never have smacked and never will. I thought Martin, with the two sons was also awful. To watch him smack that poor little boy at the dinner table was devastating. Told me lots about him though, how rude was he when telling his wife because she wasn't backing him up she should be a politician, but only it wasn't possible as she was too stupid - why did she put up with that!!0

I was physically punished as a child, and it may work for the short term (i.e, stops you doing something), but now I rarely speak to my step dad.
People wonder why some youngsters today are the way they are, and sometimes you just need to look at the parents.
In my last job in retail, a lad of 12/13 was constantly told to shut the beep up, or his father would kick the beep out of him, when they came instore (that's told he would be, not actually physically beaten there and then)
Just down from me, I saw a woman smacking a kid the other day.......it wasn't even her kid, it was her friends and the friend approved!
Smacking is not about telling the kids off, it's about how the parents deal with their own anger.0 -
Sometimes a smack on the legs works when they are not listening to reason.
I was upset the other day in a cafe. I was with my son (I'm in the UK at the moment) and at the table next to us was a young woman with a toddler. Now the little girl (about three) was eating her food nicely, with a fork, couldn't manage the knife as well, so pushed some baked beans onto her fork with her fingers. her mum told her to 'eat nicely' (fine) and gave her the knife. After trying hard to use the knife to push her beans onto the fork without success, the little girl used her fingers again, at which point the mother shouted at her 'do you want a smack?' and took the food off her.
I was upset as the little girl wasn't being naughty, but as I say, IMHO sometimes a slap on the legs works when they do not listen to reason.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

I didn't smack very often, more a light tap, a finger wagging and a lot of firm eye contact.
My cat administered her own form of discipline to our son when he was three.
He was really annoying her (not harming her) and she sat there for 5 minutes and gave him the most evil look. He took no notice, so she gave him a light tap on his arm (no claws) and he looked very shocked. It soon stopped himAn average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

I've seen dogs do similar, by looking as if they were going to bite, but just touching their teeth on skin so no harm is done. It's as if they are saying "push me further and I will bite you"!Here I go again on my own....0
