I don't see how tere is enough time to read anything on the loo and I just concentrate on on the task in hand. Being male I clearly can't multi-task!

I'm male. I read on the loo. I always have a book in there to pass the time. I can see how there could be a hygiene problem but I live on my own so no-one else touches my books so no chance of passing on any germs. Only real problem I can see is spending longer than necessary in there ("just one more chapter"!)
  • I don't, but then again I'm reasonably quick in there :o
My other half on the other hand, will often take the netbook or mag to read...
I do find it slightly strange, but I soon get used to living with it...
  • hi the only thing I read whilst on the loo is the mail if there happens to be any,but I like to read in the bath (without getting my book wet)
Keep on trying it will be your turn soon x

I don't and I'm now left wondering how much someone can read in the time it takes to go to the loo because I doubt I could get manage more than a couple of sentences.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
  • Another girl here who also reads on the loo, and like some of the other PP's I'll read the back of shampoo bottles etc if I don't have abook or magazine in there with me! Nice to know other people do the same :D

  • Both hubby and I read on the loo, but we don't tend to leave books in there as it's also the bathroom and gets very humid - don't want to damage our books! :) We'll normally just take in whatever we're reading at the time, so even if we did think it was a hygiene issue (which we don't, even tho hubby is overly hygiene conscious in general), it would still just be our own hands touching our own book. I have to admit tho, I don't do it as much now it's just me and him, when I was growing up with 3 brothers it was the only quiet place! I always thought a bookcase would be a good idea though, assuming it's a dedicated 'loo' room, rather than a splashy humid bathroom :)

how many would be on that book/mag you leave in the toilet??

Quite a few, that said, personally I'd suggest investing in a shelf if inside the bowl is the only place you can find to store your reading material :)

I can't see any issue with reading on the throne. Your hands don't become dirty just because you go through the lavatory door, and unless I'm missing something then the reading material is put away prior to any clean up :rotfl:

This said, I don't do it. I prefer to keep my time in the bathroom to a minimum. I've got comfy seats with backrests for reading in thanks.
Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. Blackwhite bellyfeel double plus good...
  • I play on my DS :/

  • I am usually too busy thinking about my business to worry about doing my business, but your comments about reading in the loo reminded me of my childhood when loo paper was a cut up newspaper hung on a nail on the back of the door.

That is why my generation were much more "well read" than the youth of today.

I initially though your use of the word scatological was referring to random thoughts ie scatterbrain type daydreaming whilst on the throne. I looked it up, and wished I hadn't!

If you are going to continue this theme you need a smilie with a peg on its nose.

I tried writing this on my laptop in the loo but it didn't work out too well, my mouse got wet.
