even if you do have a tracking number - you wont get help from paypal - paypalsucks.com and paypalwarning.com - 2 sites that are all about the workings of paypal and the way they operate - not nice atall

100% agree with that mate,. if sellers have a GPRS tracking unit on the parcel paypal may still refund the money,. its a simple issue,.. if u dont pay it paypal will have too pay it as the CC company will just refund the money from paypal and paypal will be in the RED,...

as a seller use nochex much less chance of a crawl back,.

I know its not big amount but its the principal.just thought I give you an update I have received an email from my buyer and he's saying there's been something funny going on on his paypal account ,the credit card was not valid or something like that and payments are being refused .I had to remind him how pleased he was with my item and mentioned that i'm out of pocket now as he has the goods ,the expired credit card ,and my £5.I have emailed him to kindly tell Paypal he has received his goods I'll have to wait and see now what happens I guess.

A few years ago I suffered a similar sounding chargeback for only a few quid.

What seemed to have happened (never did get the full story off paypal) was that a buyer (not mine) sold something to someone who used a stolen credit card. Funds were used for purchases down the line and when it was spotted, paypal started reversing transations back up again.

They seemed to have no strict method on how they decided which other sellers got their payments reversed from my buyer, it was like paypal went back over a few days of his purchases and randomly reversed transactions until they got enough money back.

All this information was from the buyer; paypal would tell me nothing about why they had taken my money off me.

You get really savage (it was the principle rather than the real money) and now as soon as I get £50 in my account from selling I whip it out to minimise the risk of it happening on a bigger scale.

I've also considered not taking paypal, but it really does seem that buyers will bid less if you don't offer.
