Hi I had an email from Paypal this morning that one of my buyer is reversing a transaction.I'm surprised with this one as the buyer has good(103) 100% feedback a seller himself and left me feedback that he received the item and was very pleased.Paypal usual email wants tracking no.I do not usually use recorded as my items nearly all under £5.I had charge backs before but this one is really taken me by surprise I have emailed buyer no reply yet.I dont how to proceed providing evidence as email does not tell where to send who to ring etc. Please help me!!

Do you have proof of delivery? Can you scan it in and email it to Paypal? If you can't, I'm afraid you're likely to lose this one.
I got caught like this over 'unauthorised use of credit card;' Paypal ignored the email where she said she was going to pay with her card. It's what put me off Paypal completely and I closed my account in disgust. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0 -

I havent got proof of delivery .but I think biggest proof of delivery is the feedback he left that he has received the item.Do you think its worth pursuing.0 -
If you don't have a tracking number it's curtains.prioryscout wrote:I havent got proof of delivery .but I think biggest proof of delivery is the feedback he left that he has received the item.Do you think its worth pursuing.

sorry to hear about this but there paypal are great fro buyer very poor for sellers. i know longer use them to accept payment. Now if alot of people did this we could have a different situation. think you might aswell refund and leave a big fat neg advising everyone that this buyer is a sneaky.......Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0

POP is poop to eBay anyway only online tracing is acceptable - I personally get POP for under £32 (PO CLAIM LIMIT) and everything else is '
'' insured and signed for you peice of mind'' as part of my TOS - I just include the special delivery fee in the postage so the buyer has no option. but its hopfully put in a postive way - never had any complaints and must say I always post next day if its special delivery!0 -
even if you do have a tracking number - you wont get help from paypal - paypalsucks.com and paypalwarning.com - 2 sites that are all about the workings of paypal and the way they operate - not nice atallNever do things tomorow when you can do them today.0

Always send to a confirmed address on paypal. Always ask that you are paid with a confirmed address in your paypal payment. That is the trick. Paypal can never say NO to this0

Is there a a way of knowing if the address supplied by the seller is his/her confirmed address? Cany you check it at paypal for example?0

There are two issues here and we mustn't confuse one with the other.
If a buyer claims non delivery then trackable proof of delivery is the only way that paypal will stop that chargeback, it doesn't matter what feedback or what other 'proof' you have, it is simple rule, no proof online in a trackable method outlines by paypal = losing a chargeback. However, the simple way round that is to refund and reclaim from the Royal Mail.
However, none of that applies at all if the credit card company is doing a chargeback for fraud, it is a completely different issue and trackable delivery makes no difference. Under UK banking law as it stands at the moment buyers have rights when they use their credit card. If they make a claim to the credit card company that their card was used without their knowledge, or in a fraudulent manner then they can claim back the money. When paypal get hit by such a claim they obviously pass it onto the seller. This is exactly the same as what would happen if someone used your credit card in Woolworths for instance without your knowledge, you would get your money back and Woolworths would be left with the debt.
If in this case it is the latter scenario then firstly, as you are trying to do, check with th ebuyer as this could be a genuine mistake between the credit card company and paypal. Otherwise you must treat this as a crime, as fraudulent use of a credit card is involved. Personally unless you hear anything positive from the buyer I would send him a recorded delivery letter saying that a fraudulent transaction has occured and you will of course be seeking redress. The letter is actually meaningless but if he is genuine and this is a mistake he may well be eager to stop the error before it goes any further.

How much are we talking about here; if it's less than £5 I'd try to find out what the buyer is playing at given they have left +ve FB (maybe they left FB for the wrong item and yours hasn't come?) and then consider just refunding and chasing after the PO who for less than £5 should compensate you (though this is not guaranteed).Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0
