The OP might have wasted £500 thru dumb comments like that!
There are fewer and fewer companies who know how to repair them and even less who can do it economically though.
And I must point out that it can be fatal to poke around inside a TV, even when it's switched off so don't try it at home, folks!
The shocking thing is that the Tesco helpline gave similar incorrrect advice.0 -
Ravi1626 you asked the model of my philips TV.
Model 32PW6332C/D/.0 -
the fact its 13 mouths old is irrelevant. it has to be "fit for it purpose etc" the sales of good act still applies. go back to the shop now!0

Good point, but the problem here was the connections not the TV itself0 -
Probably a speaker problem most speakers in portable tvs are very small and of low quality does the sound distort when turned up loud if it does then i would go for that but as one of the other members as stated do not open unless your are qualified to do so as components in most electronic equipment can give you a big WACK!0

ravi was your comment meant for me, i dont really have the sound turned up load, i have it at an acceptable level,No Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
Yes Ronaldo It was but turn the sound up to over 3/4 of the full vol and see if you get some sort of farting! distortion. But portables are not really worth repairing these days you can pick up one for about £50 a engineer from one of the big boys will charge you £50 to knock on your door.0

The philips 32PW6332C/D very good tv before everything went wrong for phililps from your discription sounds like a dry joint. Do you get a blank screen or a line across the screen and do you get static on the screen when there is no picture and when pciture comes on does it come instantly or gradually?0
-
ravi 1626. Re. your reply, my screen is blank, no static and perfect picture comes on instantly.
If it is as you think a dry joint, would the TV need to be taken away for repair or could a repair man fix this at home.
Any idea of the cost.
I did have a repair man out to see it some weeks ago and as the TV was on all he said was he would need to come back the following morning when TV was cold to see if there was any static on the screen. That was the last Isaw of him, needless to say I will not be calling him out again.0 -

"To see if there was any static on the screen" :rotfl:
You're right not to call him again he sounds completely clueless.0
