Bigzippy massive congrats on the bmi hon! good work x

QQ good luck with ur IVF luv. olympic baby here we come! x

CD2 for me. TTC break is on! feeling quite good about it now as there may be possibility of exciting job coming up in the future which wouldn't be possible if i was pg. Also am going to India in June on business - woohoo! Love to travel so proper excited about it.

A question for you weight loss ladies - is it possible to lose a stone in a month just through diet?? trying to drop a bit for cousins wedding on may 28th. Have changed diet this week so at the moment having fruit for brekkie, a low fat lunch (either soup or turkey salad roll) and then a healthy dinner, e.g. tonight we're having tuna steaks teriyaki with stir fry veggies. am pretty clueless about dieting but really want to lose the weight! xx

    Hi Jen

I lost around 15kg (not sure about pounds and stones) for my wedding last year in around 3 months, simply by sticking to the following:
Weetabix with chopped banana for brekkie
Wholemeal pitta bread for lunch with cucumber, tomato, lettuce, (piece of ham if hungry) and low fat mayo
Weight watchers meal for dinner with veggies and weight watchers yogurt for snack.
I've never joined or been a part of weight watchers, but just looked up basic points on the net and kinda sticked to it.

Thanks for all the well wishes:wave:

Clinic called me to come in for a scan, so I went. They wanted to see if everything is OK in there, which it was. And I've started injections - which I've done before, so it's a breeze.

Just need to fill out some consent forms. Now what to do with embryos if DH or I die? I'd be happy to give it to another couple, but better ask DH:D

I've started spotting tonight (CD20)...which seems to go with my fear (I wondered at the time tbh) that I ov'd on CD5 this cycle?!! What on earth is going on now?!?
I guess at least if it is AF I get another shot earlier than the CD70 I had last cycle!
You could've ov'd at around CD14, and you may be just 6DPO...
    Happy birthday to me :D

Going back to all the talk of grapefruit juice......is it as beneficial to just eat grapefruit or is it better to drink the juice? I love grapefruit so either is fine by me!
I've read juice, but I'd assume either is fine:)

I didn't realise your OH was based in another country though. Where is that? Still in the EU?
Singapore. We had mc in Aug 2009, re-started ttc in Dec 09, DH transferred to Singapore on 31st Dec:o We live apart now, don't want to give up my job in the UK. That's one of the reason why ttc is not working:p

Wow, that's quite a way away. One of my friends emigrated there for love in late 2009 though, and he loves it there!

And I thought the distance between OH and I for the first year was bad! But, I assume you see each other fairly regularly? Well, as regular as you can get with that distance.

Would you consider joining him there in the future, or does he plan to return to the UK full time in the future?

Sorry, I'm being nosy. You don't have to answer if you don't want to.

Gemma - Thanks. He was OK last night. I asked him about it after a while and he said it was nothing and not worth talking about. I explained why I was concerned and what I worried about and he assured me it was nothing to with me (or anyone else). I think he's just having a tough time with family stuff at the moment, so small things are getting big reactions.

He cheered up a bit, then stole my Rubik's cube for two hours. Got close to completing it, before getting really stressed out with it and making some toast (in a rather grumpy way). I just left him to it this time, and he immediately apologised for being grumpy and said it was the Rubik's cube! hahaha. That'll teach him to nick my stuff! Cheeky b'gger!

He seems much brighter this morning, and it's almost the weekend ladies! Wahoooooooo!

No he's only there for 2, 3 years. You can see why I don't want to quit my job:o But with my advancing age, I really must get on with having a baby. It's now or never, so I'm pulling out all the stops:cool:

According to the doctor, my blood test was 'really very good' and ovaries looks good so I have high expectations on my eggies:cool: C'mon baby Q!:j

Glad your DH is back to his normal self:)
  • Afternoon all!

This thread is insanely fast moving - I can see I'm going to have to schedule in more procrastination time to keep up to date!

First of all - massive good luck vibes to you QQ for your IVF. Fingers, toes, legs all crossed. (The legs will have to be uncrossed later for some BD'ing, but the thought is there..)

Talk for this evening - mastering multiquote! But for now:

lullypops - welcome! Everyone is so friendly, I'm sure you'll fit right in. :D

derby2 - so sorry you're feeling down. Could you go out for a walk in the spring sunshine? I always find that the daffodills and fresh air help clear my head. If it doesn't work, my walk mysteriously always takes me past a shop where they sell chocolate.

smash7 - yup, grapefruit juive is minging! Have to have some today as I forgot yesterday.

BB1984 - glad I make you laugh! Always happy to provide a service :)
As far as the name goes, everyone always thinks I am some terrible embittered soul, post divorce! In fact it is the title of my favourite book - "Divorcing Jack" by a guy called Colin Bateman. He was a journalist in my home town in Northern Ireland and his books are hilarious. Very black humour, but if that's your thing, you should definitely give it a go. "Divorcing jack" was make into a film as well - worth a watch of a Friday evening.

tinksy - sorry for freaking you out with the baby/bee hybrid! Blame Roald Dahl!

BigZippy - thanks for the welcome!!

keza - congrats on finally getting your CD1 - seems strange to be congratulating that, but there you go..

So, I am on my last day of holiday today ( back to work on Monday - boooo) and will be mainly trying to pack things away so some friends can come and stay over the weekend. The room is a dumping ground at the minute, so I may have to fortify myself with another cup of tea before venturing in.

I'm confused about my OV though - 25 day cycle, CD10 today. CM a little tiny bit stretchy, but not much of it. Cervix high (I think!!), but feels hard. Isn't it meant to be soft? Had pains all day yesterday which felt like they were directly behind my hip bones - could they be OV pains? Still happening today.

    I want to OV!!!!

Hmfff. Perhaps I'll go and buy a bathroom instead.

Have a good day all - dj x

    sounds excellent :T

will watch out for the dehli belly - if only we were going there before the wedding it could have been a quick way to the weight loss! ;)

I just left him to it this time, and he immediately apologised for being grumpy and said it was the Rubik's cube! hahaha. That'll teach him to nick my stuff! Cheeky b'gger!
