Good luck Teenie and I hope all is well with you Pawpurrs.
Well I'm still in total shock and it hasn't sunk in. I've walked around in a tiz today and when I got home I realised I still had me pot of wee in my bag :rotfl:
I've kept the news to myself all day as OH was on an early start and I didn't want to text the news. He had no idea that I even had a tlp yesterday and I've been mentioning the past few days that I feel like AF is on her way, so when I told him tonight it was a total shock.
I went to my sister's after work and my niece had made an Easter basket with a chick inside that she gave to me. My other sister also gave me some wine for looking after her dog last week.
So when I got home I put the digi test in the basket with the Easter chick.
When OH arrived home I showed him the wine from my sister and he said we can't have that tonight as we've got things to do, so I said I can't have it for the next 9 months and he just stared at me with a puzzled look. So I gave him the Easter basket and said I know it isn't a stork but the Easter chick has brought you something. he pulled the test out and said 'Does that mean you're pregnant?' When I said yes he just stood there shell shocked. I had to ask him if he was ok, he said 'I'm pleased for you.' I asked if he was pleased and he said he was scared :smileyhea
I think it took him a while for it to sink in, he kept picking the test up and saying stuff like 'Eeeeh you're up the duff!' then 'you won't be able to do such and such at work anymore' and 'you can't lift shopping bags you know'I've told him I'm spending the next 9 months lying on the sofa :rotfl:
We went out in the van and he was checking my seatbelt wasn't too tight :happyhear
There is no way I could not tell my mam and sisters, so we sent them a photo of the digi test and they've been on the phone crying. They knew we were ttc so were surprised but pleased.
OH also sent it to his parents, and they are gobsmacked as they didn't know we were trying.
I've had no pg symptoms so far and have genuinely had pre AF symptoms so I was convinced I was out this month. I thought I would know or I would feel different somehow.
There are only two things that I think we did differently this month, number one: we took the laid back approach, no opks, no robitussens, no grapefruit juice etc. We just bd'd a couple of times before I expected to ov (based on my notes I've kept for the past 10 months as to cycle length etc) I expected to ov between CD14 and 16 so we bd'd CD13 and 15.
The other thing that was different was that I had an internal scan about 5 days before expected ov and the Dr told me that my left ovary was developing the egg this month, so after bd'ing I lay on my left side.
Today has been so exciting, but it doesn't feel real. I keep going to the loo every half hour to check for AF. I'm over the moon, but need to do another test at the weekend before it will feel real. Plus there is a long way to go yet .......
Oh, just remembered after AF last month we booked a holiday for September. Just checked the Easyjet website and after 27 weeks you need a medical certificate to fly. I'll be 29 weeks, so I'll just HAVE to have a healthy pregnancyI'm sure they used to let you fly up to 30 weeks without a certificate
:j:j:j
Thanks again ladies and SBDTA
I'm not ready for the less than 12 week thread so I'm just gonna park me bum here for a bit until I convince myself that it's true.
BIGGEST congrats WW, love your story, it brought a little tear to my eye. Happy and healthy 9 months for you hun xx0 -

HUGE congrats Debs, ace news!! Well done you xx

I know the feeling gizmogiz - all these BFPs are meaning I'm getting so little work done!
Debs I'm so pleased you've got your BFP :j. All the best for a happy and healthy 8 months or so.
Welcome to kitten_pie as well. You have joined at an exciting time :-)
WW - your story was lovely. And how lovely is your DH to get a belated mother's day card?. Even though it is 100% definitely true, it would be lovely if you stay around here for a while yet.euronorris wrote: »You can tell them you're on a course of antibiotics? Or another medicine that shouldn't be mixed with alcohol.
Unfortunately everyone going is a Dr (either medical or scientific) and they all know exactly what you can and can't drink with (and there are very few medicines which you can't drink with anyway) and exactly what condition you would be prescribed that medication for. I know this sounds a bit silly but I don't think I could lie anyway. I can not tell the entire truth but I couldn't say I'm on tablets when I'm not (I also have no actual tablets to take and will be sharing a room with loads of the girls who may notice this fact).
To be honest though after not too long I imagine everyone there will be so drunk they won't even notice if I am drinking or not!0 -
:j WOW what an amazing start to the day, HUGE congratulations ot you deborahmcgeachy. I really do wish you and WW a very healthy and happy pregnancy and all the luck for the next 8 months. What lovely Christmas pressants for 2 very deserving people. Can't bleeive how close your EDD is to that of your own WW
must be a sign. You both seem to have got the idea of pregnancy very well................that is to lay on the sofa and have OH's running round doing everything for you for the next 8 months, enjoy every moment of it especially this early time when you walk around knowing your pregnant and others don't, its an amazing feeling.
Now just a couple more long term TTC'ers to get their BFP's before its my turn at the top of the list
