I cannot recommend this book highly enough for all the information you need about your body and how it works to prevent and make a baby!

  • Hi All,

Had the weekend away from the computer so spent today / yesterday catching up!

BB1984 - I keep wondering into MotherCare whilst on my lunch - I tell myself every month not to get my hopes up but wandering round really cheers me up ... ATM my cousin is 7 months pregnant so I use a present for her as an excuse :rotfl:

    Penny1981 - CONGRATULATIONS!! :T

Portsmouthali - I am so sorry to hear that. I have no other words of comfort I can offer - I hope you have good friends and family to support you through this!!

Keza - I am too just getting into this tempting lark, I temped just the once and completely forgot this morning ... best get a riggle on as I am on CD7!

QQ - Thank you for your Fertility Chart - I will sign up to that tonight once I get home ... My only concern is tempting at the same time everyday - ATM I currently take my husband to work he alternates betweeen mornings and afters - so one week I get up at 5:10 and the next week I get up at 6:30 - 7:00 ish - would this affect my temping?

Hope everyone is doing ok ....

The other said "I'd better persuade DH to try before that then" Can you believe she's turning it into a race / competition?

hi am new to all this! i have pcos and are just getting to the swing of this period stuff everything is so confusing ! lol any advice to how to know when your ovulating sorry not quite with the slang yet. all i know its 14 days after period ?? i have got ovulation test but not sure when to use them. any advice is good advice :)
    Welcome:wave:
Would you like to be listed on the first page?
Would something like this be OK?

    beth_kiss (age? not compulsory) TTC#1 since 03/11

One ovulates 10-16 days before period:o
Do you get ewcm (egg white cervical mucous)? That usually indicates it's time to BD (baby dance - you know, make babies:D).

Other way is to your OPKs (ovulation predictor kits).
    Something like this:http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001G7STT0/ref=pd_luc_mri?ie=UTF8&m=A4DI4ZJ5WTRP7
I'm quoting the lovely Pigpen here, who said once you've had miscarriages you never expect pregnancies to end any other way - if you end up with a baby at the end then it's a bonus. Sad but true xx
    I agree:o I'd love a bonus:cool:
Hope we all get what we want. 2012 baby for me please! :j:j
    Me too!:j:j

so should my temp be lower or hight when ovulating ? sorry i sound so thick no one in my family talks about this stuff as they all fell preg with out even trying :(
You may be lucky and fall pg straight away too:)

As for temps, one has low temp until ov. At ov, it's low and once the egg pops out of the follicle (bag containing the egg), it changes into something called corpus luteum and it produces progesterone which raised the temp.

If egg does not implant to become a baby, corpus luteum disintegrates and the temps fall and AF starts.

I am sooo regretting this chilled TTCing. I wish that I did OPKs this cycle so I knew which dpo I am!! grrr!!
On my chilled TTC, I used opks:p
    currently CD21(31/29/10).
I am working myself up now wondering if my last AF which cut short my last cycle to 10 days was a real AF. If not then I would be on CD31.
I've got absolutely no symptoms except a face full of spots - I normally have very clear skin which people often remark on.
I am deffo annoying myself. Can I possibly wait another 7 days to test??
If you have some cheapy hpts lying about then why not?
    Don't use a digi though:naughty:

I didn't post at all this cycle as the month before I'd got too obsessed and it made me have a mini meltdown so I was keeping my mind off it as much as possible.
    Was wondering where you are:wave:
This past month we've been DTD every other day from CD3 to CD24 and until last month I had fairly regular cycles of between 29-31 days. (Last months cycle was 35) I still hadn't come on by CD36 so we tested but sadly it was BFN so I knew then I was just being irregular and came on this morning (total cycle was 38)
You must7ve ov'd between CD22-28:( More likely after the CD24:(
Still only been TTC 7 months so can't go to Drs yet but I really think something is up with either me or OH, wish we could find out sooner.
7 months is still early days, especially if you didn't BD at the right times:o
So back to CD1 today, am gonna give temping & ov testing another go and see if I can work out whats going on! Also gonna DTD every other day again.
Onwards and upwards everyone, sure it'll happen for us all soon.
    xxxx
    Good luck!

Not really. I think something like, only 25% of couples fall pregnant within the first 3 months, and that percentage continues to rise to about 80% within the first 12 months.
You need to change months to cycles;)
Soo....if you went to docs at 6 months, as far as they are concerned, you are well within the 'normal' timeframe to conceive. They could then be doing a lot of tests for no reason, or even just to say 'Hey, you're fine. It'll happen when it happens.'. If you see what I mean?
Unless you definitely have problems, like no AF for 6 months:o
The only way I can think of to bypass this, is to pay privately for screening before TTC'ing. But, seeing as we don't all have tonnes a money, that's unlikely to happen. :(
You don't have to go the whole hog for IVF, just get a scan, your tubes cleared & semen analysis. Oh, if you have irregular cycles, something to induce AF and ov would be good too:p

That's not a big enough difference, so it should be OK. One just needs 3 solid hours sleep:)

Thanks for clarifying QQ. I wasn't sure if it was 12 months or 12 cycles. And yes, of course, if your AF disappears for ages, best to get it checked out.

God knows how I managed to write my email in a good way. Not usually a strong point of mine, but then, I did have a very relaxing weekend and pampered myself by getting a new suitcase (how very exciting! lol), using a facemask and dying my hair. The flat is much tidier now too. I feel cluttered if the flat is cluttered.

Thanks QQ, we went to New York to stay with my brother which meant we couldn't really BD & I didn't think it would matter too much as thought I'd have ov'd by then but obv my body was being annoyingly unpredictable and ov'd late.

Never mind, we had a great time...he's just had a baby, well she's 4 months now but is totally scrumptious and we spent loads of time with her. OH loved having her in the sling....think he was practising being daddy!!
We're going to do everything we can this month to track down my ov day & make this happen.

Thanks for all the help and advice on here everyone, but esp QQ.

It says 12 months, but if you only get 2 cycles in 12 months, I don't think it's 80% chance of getting pg:o

    Hi Guys

Congrats Penny on your BFP :j!!

Ali, I'm so sorry about your loss. Hope the docs can help with a sticky bean!!

I remember someone mentioning men taking Folic Acid too. Is there a special one for men or is it the same as I take? DH isn't the healthiest of people so getting him on multi vits, codliver oil & folic?

Lots of PMA this month 2012 babies, here we come!!:p
