Hmmm... Could it be mid cycle spotting and not AF?
    Low progesterone could do that.

Any cycle over 21 days is normal, so I'd say some are normal.
As for those 13/12 day ones, I wonder if it was not AF but a mid cycle spotting?

    Which ones were light AF?
Can you group it like this?

    13, 22, 21+12, 22, 20+12, 30, 23?

Thanks QQ - mid cycle spotting sounds like a good possibility! I guess that probably means I've ov'd already if I'm potentially due in 10 days..? Hopefully DH and I caught ov - last BD was Friday...

Oh this TTC malarky is SO complicated!!!!!

funny you should ask that I was reading about that on the net today. There are several theories apparently. One is....

The 'boy' swimmers are super quick but don't hang around for very long and die off, the 'girl' swimmers are a bit slower but do stay around for a bit longer. So it is said with this theory that if you do the BD on OV day then the boys are more likely to speed off and catch the egg. Where as if you do it before the girls have a 'slow and steady wins the race' attitude so when the egg is ready they are there waiting.

However, I stress this is just a theory and I am not sure if I believe it or not as really the end goal is to have a happy healthy baby of whatever sex.

There are other theories too but I don't remember them, they are all over the net though.

No they don't, if they want their kids to be grown up by the time they retire, and remember 30% of the cause of infertility is male.

There's also a study saying increased case of autism from a baby born by a father older than 40:http://www.mothers35plus.co.uk/older-fathers.htm
