Once I came off the pill, I noticed my period is really long! like 10 days the last one (13-23 Nov!). where does that put my OV? I have only started to consider using OPK and have ordered them. Wondering if my period is so long then does that mean my OV dates shift too? does my question makes sense?

same here
Please no more snow, were still wading through it all and the side roads are still impossible to manage! wish it saved itself for Christmas day
brownbabygirl, your LP (time after ov to period) usually stys the same for each woman from cycle to cycle, it is the days before ov that can change. for instance I came off the pill in June, had a 42 day cycle with ov CD32, and a 10 day LP, second cycle was 88 days with ov CD76 and a 13 day LP. my third cycle (which thankfully I fell pregnant on) was ov CD21. Because I temp I was able to see the ov clearly after it had happend and used cervical mucus and cervix position to determine when to bd, opk's are great if you want to take a more relaxed approach and just do the opk's daily! sorry know this doesn't answer your question fully but hope it helpsDMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 315Married 03/04/2010with many thanks to MSE Wedding boardLO 23/03/12 Special thanks to TTC thread0 -

I always have 10 day periods but a 28 day cycle. I'm fairly sure I ov on cd14, 4 days after AF ends (I don't test for it but get ewcm, stabbing pains and sore b o o b s ).
Hope that helps!0 -
Could be low progesterone?
Thanks QQ, yeah I thought that could be the problem, typical- the docs are so not going to take me seriously unless I lose more weight, anyone know of a way to up progesterone levels without seeking doctor's advice?

you could try agnus castus, also called vitex or chasteberry. it helps to balance out hormones, not sure how exactly. btw it's totally natural as well.
i've decided i'm going to chuck out my remaining ic's, the early testing is doing me no good. if they're not there i can't be tempted. if i suspect i'm pregnant i'll either have wait til i go to the shops or order some online after af is due.
we have no proper snow left here now, we only had about 2inches to start with. but on our side streets there is compacted snow and black ice, it's treacherous trying to walk the dog, nearly fell several times yesterday
qq - yeah i'm pleased about the lengthened lp and the lack of spotting.0 -

re the low progesterone, you can get natural progesterone cream that you apply after ov, people seem to rave about it on the take charge of your fertility forum. not sure where you get it from though.0
