  • Did a test and got a BFN

I said i wasnt getting my hopes up but on my way to lunch i did allow myself to get a bit excited as my spotting was diff colour to my normal AF

Within 20 mins of testing AF arrived anyway so not only did the witch get me it messed with my head a little bit first too grrrr evil witch

So i guess CD1 for me and will start temping properly. Bit gutted but at least i can still have a drink at christmas.

Im thinking that as ive come on early again and it has been a slightly different day for last couple of months that maybe the pill is finally out of my system (was very very precisly regular for years) maybe now will have better chance of conceiving??

So sorry hun, it really does suck doesn't it! Keep going, our BFP's will be here soon I'm sure!
What days did you BD around ov this month? Were you quite positive that you had caught the egg?

I am really really trying not to get my hopes up again this month but its so hard. Especially when you track your ov and BD on the right days, its hard not to feel like maybe we could have done it this month!

Hope the rest of your day is good, at least its Friday. Treat yourself to something yummy tonight!

  • Thanks Feanor I got my ov days from a calculator thing online, it gives you a period of about 7 days you are most likely to ov (going by your 1st day of your period) we bd most of the 7 days in the bracket so was hopeful this time but perhaps my days are out as my period start day seems to have changed slightly over last couple of months.

Maybe i will get a better idea once ive got the temping recorded properly. It just seems to be a bit of a lottery, but yet you hear of people having one night stands/accidents and falling straight away!

oh well must stay positive, might get an ovulation kit and some conceive plus as well

Does anyone have PCOS? Or had an ultrasound before where the result was 'suggestive of PCOS'?

Years ago, whilst on the Pill, my periods disappeared completely. Doc advised to come off pill. After 2 months with nothing, she sent me for an ultrasound scan and they found a lot of little cysts around the ovaries which were 'suggestive of PCOS'. The doc then advised me to stay off the pill and periods should return to normal in time.

They did. They returned after about 3 months and I haven't had any problems since. I asked the doc about this causing problems with trying to conceive, but as I was so young at the time and not ready to TTC, she said we would look into again once I was ready.

So, now I'm thinking, should I go to my doctor here and tell him about this now, in case they need to do any tests etc? Or just leave it until we are trying to conceive? It's been worrying me, but not really sure if I should be worried, IYKWIM?

I don't think you should be too down on yourself, because OV is different for everyone and a generic calculator is just a guide. Have you thought about a Clearblue Fertility Monitor? Its a little bit expensive, but I have found it really good! You can get them cheaper the bay of e, but the test sticks are quite expensive at about £12 per box for 20.

I can't get my head around temping, I find I either move too much before I wake up or totally forget all together!

I have PCOS and had it confirmed by a blood test and a ultrasound, Unfortunatly even after confirming it they are not too keen to help. My doctor put me on metformin which can help PCOS but its not actually designed for that, i am ovulating but no idea if i was before the metformin, the metformin has some terrible side effects which i am still suffering with over 4 months after starting it. It doesn't appear to be helping me getting pregnant though, last month we DTD 6 times on and around OV time and were unsucessful, we are now onto month 9 of TTC come next week.

I hope you don't have PCOS, even if you do, many people who have it have no problems concieving so try not to worry

    Thank you for sharing GG.

Even if I do have it, I would still be very lucky as I don't seem to suffer with some of the nastier symptoms. I'm just wondering if it's worth asking my doctor about now? Maybe I'd have better luck here with regards to treatment (sometimes I have very different, better experiences with healthcare, and sometimes I think it's all a bit backwards! lol), who knows?

I did used to suffer with terrible pains and irregular periods before being put on the pill at 13 to help that though. I've been on it ever since (bar a few months here and there).

Oh, maybe I should just go and have a chat with the doc anyway. That's why I pay for health insurance after all! Might as well get my money's worth!

I hope the side effects start to ease/disappear for you soon! And that you fall pregnant too. My sis has been trying for a year now (she doesn't have PCOS that we know of). She's just had some bloods taken to confirm she'd ovulating. Fingers crossed!

Oh, she also said that a friend of hers, with PCOS, had a 'little key hole surgery like XXXX did if the cysts are still there. Without being graphic I think they flush your tubes or something.'

Just wondered if they mentioned that to you as an option too?
