I'm not too sure therefore that the diagnosis is accurate she had the hormone profiling re done recently by the GP who told her that all of her blood results are in normal range but I didn't think if you get diagnosed it just suddenly gets better ! Or am I wrong ?
Remember, you need 2 of the 3 to be diagnosed with PCOS - she has the polycystic ovaries on the scan, the irregular periods, and (at the time at least) the wonky hormone levels - that's 3 out of 3. It's not the wrong diagnosis. It is expected that PCOS sufferers *may* take longer to conceive - but there's no hard and fast rule for any of us.
Her tummy is prob the biggest part of her body and is the only bit of her out of proportion its a big rounded one and maybe this is down to what you describe with the glucose tolerance.
She can ask the doctor for a Glucose Tolerance Test (I had one) and that would show if she does have any issues with processing sugar. If she has, they may put her on Metformin. Once the insulin resistance is under control then that may have a knock on affect on her hormones/andogens etc and therefore on ovulation too.
I'm trying to be supportive and sensitive towards her but have found that she is actively avoiding me which I've half accepted and am half upset about if i'm honest just really wanted to know if I was missing anything that I could be doing to help.
You're not doing anything wrong. Sometimes we just need to take a step back and not be involved in the details. I don't mind so much that me friends are pregnant, but if they're at all 'moany' about it (such as "oh I feel so sick/tired/whatever") then I will avoid them, because all I end up thinking is "count yourself lucky! I'd love to feel that sick/tired/whatever" - and no, that's not fair to you/them, but that's honestly how it makes me feel.:o I'm afraid sometimes she's just going to need space to get her head around it, and seeing your scans/bumps/hearing you talking about your growing baby will just be upsetting for her. I start to feel better about being around a baby more when they're about 6months+ -it's like they've gotten out of the initial stages of babydom by then and they're no longer at the stage I imagine so vividly for myself, iyswim? But I do still see them in the middle stages, but I have to guard my heart more...

I'm glad you're doing well, that beanie is doing well, and that you're being well looked after :)

Thanks for your warm welcome everyone, have been reading back through the thread, think I know my OPKs from my DPOs now! Asked DH last night what he thought being a parent would be like, he replied it will be a good excuse to leave family parties early!
:rotfl: I took my niece and nephew to a family do recently - they were great buffers!! :D:p
    (major delurk)

    Hello....

As some of you will have seen on WTTC I am well and truly TTC now. I have been lurking here for a good few months before I was even TTC and following your stories!!
    Welcome over LB!
Can someone please give me a big QQ style ticking off (the face with the finger I can't find it lol but always think of QQ doing it when I symptom search) and talk me out of testing at 7 DPO. (Yes SEVEN)

Then I just feel a bit naff as I think I'm on CD9 and I've still got AF and cramps etc.
I'm CD8 and still AF (I had spotting for ages before real AF tooth_dry.gif) and cramps. I know the feeling dude th_boredsmiley.gif
Then I'm getting myself all worked up again about having cin 2 and needing treatment. It's two weeks now that I was told that I'd need treatment and I still haven't received my hospital appointment. When I got my smear results and was told I'd need a follow up appointment I received my hospital appointment the very next day.
Can you chase it up? If you don't have what it takes, your GP surgery receptionist should be able to do it for you.
Then to top it all off my step-daughter is here today. I know you'll all think that I'm a witch but I'm just not really in the mood to be playing happy families with someone elses child.
    I don't think you're a witch - I think you're just like me! :picon_shifty.gif

Yeah, newyearnewstart where are you?? I've been thinking about you all yesterday and I woke up thinking about you this morning! Test already!!
    C'mon NYNS!!
And then to rub salt in the wound I've just started feeling cramps and am now having quite heavy spotting which is definitely redder than the spotting I got last month so I think AF will come early again, which means this month my LP may be even shorter than 10 days. :(
:( Pants. Try not to get too down, though. You may've ov'd just slightly earlier than you thought - or you may only get real AF in a day or so, or it might not be AF at all :o

I was right down in the dumps last night, but my friend sent me a surprise parcel in the post this morning! :D And hubby's off all weekend with me. Hurrah!

It took me SO long to catch up on a week's worth of posts!! You lot are so chatty :p

Thanks lemonmelon for doing the chart today - I'm actually 8DPO (as wasn't sure whether I ov'd on CD18 or 19, decided to go with CD19 to force myself to wait as long as poss to test!) I suppose you could put me on the testing list for Sat 20th, if you feel so inclined - don't worry if not, I'm not fussed.

Hello to all the newbies, hope you're not here too long! Also welcome to all those who have ventured out of lurkdom!

((hugs)) to fannyanna, sorry you're feeling down. Don't feel bad about feeling down, everything you've said sounds perfectly understandable.

Rebekah - I'm with you on the sore nipples front, LOL! Mine have been killing me for the past few days, bit better today though (good sign or bad sign? Who knows!)

I'm afraid I have been engaging in some symptom spotting, despite trying to convince myself that I'm not pg, trying to protect myself against the inevitable disappointment that comes with AF.... But I have had the sore boobs/nipples, which I don't usually have so soon after ov. Also, (sorry, TMI) I've had thrush since a couple of days after ov, which apparently can be a pg symptom. However, I am quite prone to thrush anyway, and we had been having a lot of sex, so it's probably nothing. (but it is much worse than usual!) Also, my skin and nails both look really good - whereas since I came off the pill, my skin has been rubbish virtually all the time. I have also been peeing a lot, although it's hard to know whether that's any worse than usual.

    I know, I know, I'm a very naughty girl :D

I didn't know sage was an issue when pg!! Gosh there's so much to think about. Is it just sage essential oil, or should we steer clear of eating/touching/sniffing sage leaves?!

Going out tonight, need to avoid drinking. Did have a few drinkies here and there on holiday, but not a lot. I do get bored of drinking lime and soda though!

Right, must go do something useful with my afternoon...

I've had a problem with my ears for a week now. They keep blocking (like when your ears pop) and I then get a headache as I feel there is so much pressure in my head. I've avoided going to the Doctors as I'm not sure what they'll be able to do. I really don't think it's a wax build-up. It feels more like trapped water but I've not really submerged my head in water.
Then I'm getting myself all worked up again about having cin 2 and needing treatment. Hun, you must be my twin! As well as having had CIN2 I also have ear problems!!! It does sound like wax.....I often get it where it seems like that, or it can be that you've got a tenny bit of an infection. If you don't want to go to the docs then how about trying ear candling? its supposed to be fab and you can always go to the docs then if it hasn't worked.

As for your appointment for the CIN2 treatment, I would chase it up. I'd have expected you to have an appointment by now.

What a lovely friend!! it's so nice to get surprises!!

DH is asking where i'd like to go for my 30th Birthday? i think he means somewhere for a couple of nights or something, we will have a week off just after my birthday. Anyone got any ideas of somewhere a bit special? It doesn't have to be cheap but not expensive enough to give him a heart attack!!! I'd like to go to Heston Blumenthal's restaurant but I think hubby might find it a bit posh and not enjoy it.....no point paying a fortune if one of us doesn't enjoy it!! Oh and we could go abroad if we found something suitable!!!

Can anyone help me, please? On FF, how do you view several of your charts all at once, to compare them? Everything I've tried it tells me that I need VIP membership, grrrr. But I'm sure I have viewed them all at once previously...any ideas?

Lisa - whereabouts (roughly) in the country are you? Just thinking that if you're only going away for a couple of days, you prob won't want to spend hours and hours travelling to get there!

We're in lincolnshire. We'd talked about maybe Londo or something, travelling isn't too much of an issue. we might end up going for longer, i'm not really sure what he has in mind so really anywhere thats uppto say 5 hours or so is a definate possibility and over that wouldn't be a definate no!!
