I get sad if I don't see DH for one night so can only imagine how hard it must be.

Come and chat with us - we'll keep you company :)

Hope AF stays away and your BFN turns into a BFP soon Marie

Good news about your test results countrybum

just popping on briefly before bed to say

big congrats to redfrog! make sure you keep us posted on how you're getting on :)

WOW to bigzippy :j Can't believe you lost 10% of your body weight, that is amazing and such an achievement :)

lots of ((hugs)) to 2b :( How come your son is away so long? Hopefully this week will fly by at least so you'll have your DW back. My DH goes away quite regularly, for up to 2 weeks at a time, but he went away once for a month and i cried loads then when I said bye... Make sure you plan lots of nice things to keep yourself busy, and buy yourself some treats :D

fingers crossed to all those (too many to mention, it seems like!) who are 10+ DPO and hoping that AF stays away...! :)

right must go, my bed awaits!

    BB x

Thank you lovely ladies ((hugs you all)) - I';ve opened a bottle of wine to make myself feel a bit better.

DS - looooong story - he is officially my step-son (I hate that term he is definitely mine!), so he goes to stay with his other Mum in the US three times a year during school holidays, the summer is the longest. Complicated, much?!! So suddenly I go from full time Mummy, to somebody without a purpose, and its a difficult adjustment, Im not going to lie.

DW takes him (too expensive for all of us and I *hate* flying), then goes to Canada to work usually if its a short trip (2 weeks) she will stay out there, but as its 6 weeks, she is going to fly back and we will have 4 glorious weeks together of feeling young free and single and penniless!! :D

Its so difficult though - 1 hour til she lands. I have been staying up especially :D

Can anyone recommend any opk's that are nice and cheap and a bit more reliable!?!

Hi Goppers, I use that brand. They take a while to get used to. I find that after around the 3rd day of using them each cycle, I start to get a faint line, that gets a little darker the following day. According to them, though, this would still be classed as a negative because the 2nd line isn't as strong as the first. At this stage, I take to using 2 or even 3 a day, because you could get a faint line at 11am, a strong positive at 3pm and it could be completely blank by 6pm, so try using a few in the one day once you think the chances of OVing are quite high. A few things would stop you getting any sort of line - using first morning urine (FMU) or drinking plenty of liquids before testing. I make sure to have a pee at least 2 hours before I test and then don't pee again until I test, I try to not drink anything in those 2 hours too.

I got two +ves after 3 or 4 -ves using the amazon ones. I don't drink or wee for three hours (or as close as I can manage). I usually do mine about 6:30-7pm (although my second +ve was at about 11:30am)

2b that sounds horrible re: having to say goodbye to DS for so long. I know what you mean about the flying I hate it too (although we went to NY and Boston for honeymoon- DH is great with me on a plane. I also did a LOT of reading on how planes work which was a massive help and I would recommend doing). I also get anxious when people I care about go on planes- when DH and I first got together he went on holiday to NY and the caribbean and so went on five planes. I demanded a list of his flights and also that he text me each time he landed! Can't believe I didn't scare him off! :rotfl:

    2b, I hope you're feeling a bit brighter now :o

countrybum -hope the appt time is very useful for you ...or that you don't need it in the end anyway ;) I think you put the conceive+ "in"...? I don't have it though so I'm not sure, but there's one that has an applicator for the "in" and there's another that doesn't (preseed??) that you can put "on"... which way round they are, I'm not sure! :p

    Thanks guys :o:D
Not doing a particular plan like SW or WW. I hate those show and tell type programmes, and don't like any plan that "disallows" things... I simply have as much as possible made from scratch (so I do batch cooking a lot and freeze it) and have the recommended portion sizes of most things now (I never used to weigh potatoes/rice/pasta/anything like that...it's frightening how much smaller (but now filling still) the "real" amount is than what I was having!) and calorie count. My GP (based on MY circumstances) told me to aim for 1200-1400 calories a day...so that's what I'm doing - at least most of the time. I try and walk the dogs with DH every few days now too, health permitting. It's taken me just over 4 months to lose 10%, but I feel much better for it, and once I started it seemed much easier than I thought it was going to be... it's those first few steps that are the hardest, til you get to see the results.

For anyone out there that wants to lose weight, and doesn't think they can, trust me - if I can, with all my health issues, anyone can! ;)
