Thanks QQ and emsbet.
I keep thinking I should just tell one of them we're trying and it'll get round the group and people will stop asking. The problem is it's difficult enough being a girl in this industry without letting on that (eventually) I might go on maternity leave...0 -

Maybe go to the other extreme and tell them you don't want kids. That way they will stop asking you and also no one will be expecting you to go on maternity. Or just tell them to do one it's none of their business.

First of all: can I please apologise in advance for my mini-rant.
Here goes...why oh why will people not stop asking me when I am going to have children?!? Fair enough, I got married last year, but I wish they could realise that I am trying and struggling and that every time they ask me my chest tightens to the size of a walnut. I'm sure it is blatently obvious from my face that I'm panicking for a light hearted answer and I'm sure I don't manage it. What's even more bizarre is that I work with all men and it is these men asking me when I'm having kids. One guy even just walked into my office without a hello or anything and asked if I was pregnant yet. !!!!!!?!?!? My boss was telling me how all your eggs are the first thing to form so I had better get a move on. Arrrggghhhhhhh. Nightmare.
p.s. it doesn't help that it is CD 1 for me (small cry in the car on the way to work). I thought we might have been in with a chance this month-I've had some unusual CM moments and no AF symptoms until I came on. Rubbish rubbish rubbish.
I'm so sorry for the rant but I'm so sick and tired of it.Awww sending you some hugs.
People don't really think when they ask these type of questions although I'm sure they'd be mortified if they knew about the situation and realised that their questions were upsetting you.0 -
Yay!:j
Boo for -hpt, but one can't have everything:p
Good PMA:)
Next time I'll take the +hpt and leave the temp rise then please!
Does anyone know where there is that chart online that tells you what % of hpts are accurate - I think 11DPO is about 50%?
When anyone asks when we're having kids I just say it's not our decision it's for the man upstairs to decide. Speaking of DH was really sweet last night when I had AF pains, I said I was sad there was no sticky bean this month, and he told me God will send us our LO when he's good and ready, but right now he's taking care of him for us while He makes the finishing touches. I liked that idea.0 -

I think you must've ov'd on CD15. I know you didn't get a temp rise, but you got an ov dip. Is your AF light? If it's normal, then I think you may have ov'd. If it's ligher, then maybe it tried to ov but didn't:o
As for one ovary not working, I don't know. I had that theory too, as I always get ov pain on the left, and even with scans, left one seemed to ov most of the time, but right one did ov some of the time, so that theory was discounted by my doc:o
It didn't ov on alternate months either;)
thanks
AF is fairly light this cycle. The only times I've ever noticed proper ov pains, it's been on the right hand side... Well, whatever, hopefully one of my ovaries will produce an eggy this time round!First of all: can I please apologise in advance for my mini-rant.

Ooh hugs Derby, I know how you feel. I got married just under 2 years ago and people are always asking me. I find it very annoying and frustrating, but usually make a stupid comment like "are you saying I look fat?", or rub my belly, stick it out and say I'm cultivating a cake baby....! :rotfl: I know it wears a bit thin after a while though - and I know that I will NEVER again ask anyone when they're planning to have kids...!
((hugs)) gemma and emsbet, come on with that PMA - you can do it! :j
I'm working from home today and feeling quite lonely...will go out to the gym later though and have got a yummy chorizo stew-type thing for dinner tonight

Hello everyone,
I would love to join the group please. I am 28, TTC #1 Since May 11, CD 20.
Only been trying a little while but already getting impatient and considering trying ovulation kits and either Pre-seed or Conceive plus. I see from page one that people have had success using Pre-seed and Conceive Plus - are any of you currently using it and if so what is your opinion please?
Thank you :0)

There are a few people currently using Pre-Seed or Conceive plus. I am not one of them so can't really help much. If you look on today's "Team Sticky" list posted by QQ on the bottom of page 705 you will see those who are currently using one or the other (marked out with *).
I use OPKs and chart my temps on FF (fertility friend) which is really good and I would recommend it if you want to get a better understanding of your cycle.
Any more questions feel free to ask - there is usually someone who knows the answer or can find it for you

I use Preseed. I think it's great, I use if before BD and put some in there so DH doesn't notice:p I think with Conceive Plus, you can put it on him;) Anything to help the swimmers:)
How is your cycle? Is it regular?0 -
Hello Laura! Hope you aren't here very long
First ever smiley on ov kit for me today :T.
Had a follow up scan for my ovarian cyst today. It's shrunk significantly and whilst I had a couple of blood tests done as a precaution the consultant told me to "go away and get pregnant" (good job as we've been really putting the work in for the past few days):D It was an internal scan though so hope the gel stuff they use doesn't affect swimmers
I've found the cyst a handy way of deflecting the "when are you having kids question", I just say that I've got a couple of health issues that need to be sorted first before I even THINK of popping out babies. That usually shuts people up, especially men as they're scared you'll start talking about periods and stuff
Glad you're finding PMA in Subway Emsbet, we've got to take it where we can get it0
