    Evening all!

QQ, congrats on having the eggies put back! fingers crossed they stick x.

Hugs to all that AF got, nasty witch!!!

Well, I'm CD11 and still no line on an OPK, not even a teeny faint one! However, today I've had a weird stabbing pain in my abdomen, about level with the point of my hip bone but slightly further round towards my belly button. Is that where your ovaries are? Is it possible to OV but not get a line on an OPK?

We've had a busy day of gardening today and I'm shattered now!!!

    Hiya.

I was on Microgynon for 2 years, with 3 years of Ovanette before that, and 18 months of ovranette after. I took my last pill early September 10, and to recollection, had my first period about in line with my normal "pill cycle", but a bit shorter, and then they carried on at about the same interval but gradually getting heavier and longer. I wanted to track my cycle whilst giving my body time to get clear of the pill so I started tracking my cycle in November using OPK's, with intention of starting TTC in April. I started checking using the standard Luteal phase, but just got negatives on OPK, so started checking earlier and later, and eventually started getting faint lines on the Opk's, so i knew roughly when i was close to OV. Despite checking up to 3 times a day, i never got a full +ve, so went with my best results as my OV dates.
I was worried that i wasnt actually ovulating, not getting the full line, but as i'm now 6+1, after BD'ing just on my two most fertile days in april, i guess i was alright after all!

I started on pregnacare plus in October, and Agnus castus in about December. The agnus castus is what i used to regulate my cycle, so give that a go, and the pregnacare plus has lots of other good stuff that helps too!

    K x

Thanks for the information. I know I need to be a tad more patient but I can't help myself :o
I have some Agnus Castus in a drawer somewhere as I used to take it to try and clear up my hormonal acne - I may start taking it again.

I think I'm just having a serious case of the ticking biological clock! :rotfl:

((hugs)) fannyanna. It's the uncertainty that's the worst isn't it?!

    A couple of questions:
~ Did any of you ladies take the pill for a long while? If so how long did it take for you to start having regular(ish) cycles?
~ Is it possible that you can still ov without having periods?
~ Does anybody know if there is anything I can take (without waiting a year and going to doctors) that I can take to give my cycle a kick start?

I know it's still early days but I don't want to sit around and wait and see - it's not me, I need to be proactive and do something.

    Sorry for going on :o

    xx

It is indeed the uncertainty :(

I have an answer for one of your questions:

You can still ovulate without having a period. I've never had regular periods and haven't had one for at least 8 months now (i've been off the pill for 6 months) but I think I ovulate.

I use the OPK's and got a positive.

Although having said that the OPK's test for a surge in LH levels (which you get just before you ovulate) which can increase even if you don't ovulate.

Although I wish we could all get BFPs straight away, it's nice to know I'm not alone with my worries

  • Congrats on your eggies QQ, I honestly hope this is your month. As I always say you really deserve it :)

I went in Holland and Barrett this week to get some Agnus Castus, Royal Jelly and some vits for skin, hair & nails (I have been spotty all month :() and I have a bit of a problem swallowing tablets so by my standards they were HUGE!! Has anyone managed to get any that aren't so big? I managed to talk some massive antibiotics a while back with milk eventually...but if I am going to be taking these daily I want to be able to take them easily or I know I just won't bother :o

I hope everyone is enjoying their second long weekend in a row! I think I could get used to this :D

I don't know about the pill but I know they say after giving birth or having a miscarriage that you can ovulate before your first period so I would assume the same can apply when coming off the pill. Also, I wouldn't wait a year without a period to see the Dr - I don't know how long would be a sensible time to go and see one but I would expect them to be willing to do something sooner than a year.

I thought that was a long time - maybe I'm remembering that nugget of information incorrectly!

I haven't seen royal jelly but the Agnus Castus are huge! I've occasionally struggled taking paracetamol and when I do I find taking it with something fizzy (even if it's just soda water) helps as I don't feel it going down. Don't know if that affects how they work though :o

Just thinking, I don't think I could find the Royal Jelly so I will have to look again, hopefully they will be ok. The Agnus Castus and vits for skin were definately massive though! I work myself up before I take them. I know I just won't bother if it's a struggle getting them down every day!Blimey, I sound like such a fruit loop :rotfl:. I wish all tablets were like folic acid, or the pill...lol

Thanks for the tip with fizzy, I will have to give it a go!

I'm the same I have to psyche myself up to take them! Sometimes I'm fine and sometimes. like yesterday I can't even take half a paracetemol without spending five minutes telling myself "you can do it, don't even think about it!" :rotfl:

That's exactly what I do!! And I know it makes it worse because then your so tense trying to swallow the blooming thing! And if they are tablets without coating they start disolving and taste disgusting :D

What are we like! Maybe some other people will have tips for us! :p
