  • I only found this site a few weeks ago, hard to believe. I feel like a novice Os despite being OS in some ways for years.
    But so far:
-bought and used a slow cooker- love it!
    -bought some Stardrops- FAB!
-shop around far more than I used to
    -started knitting again
    -Cooking more from scratch
-found the Flylady site(just need time to read it)
    -starting to plan Christmas early
    Cheers!

After all our soul bearing and getting off our chests of the last couple of days I thought it would be nice to have a thread devoted to celebrating all the good things and benefits we have received from the OS board our OS virtual family.
..... Let's all celebrate the good things here and give thanks where it is due.

MSE/OS has helped me so much:

    Stardrops
    Microfibre cloths
    Tightwad Gazette
    Flylady
    Slow cooker
Bread Machine (help when I lost my instructions!)
plus help from the Techies for my computer/freeview box

The best part is all the support, knowing what everyone else is doing. When I'm a bit fed up with the washing, cooking etc - it makes it much more fun knowing I'm not alone!

As well as the money saving aspect, it's the "overthefenceability" of the site that I like.

  • Aside from the motivation, inspiration and friendliness the amazement of simple solutions to 'hard' jobs that manufacturers peddle their extremely expensive wares and concoctions that I have bought and not been satisfies with in particular :

My nasty old bath, the peroxide and bicarb saved me a fortune.

My oven, vinegar and bicarb past, and finally the heaven sent soda crystals that dissolve grease from my oven shelves whilst they soak in the bath. I was so amazed and the lack of elbow grease required.
