i also wonder why you felt the need to use bold text?was this to push home the point or as i said were you worried my tired eyes couldnt see the text?

as for me having a chip on my shoulder? do you think i work in a call centre?

however i have the sense to learn how to deal with things without needing to use a sound file
i would hope those with a little sense would sent a recorded letter stating all correspondence would be dealt with in writing from that point forward,not acting like a 5 year old on the phone
you post on a forum and get replys,if you want them all to be to your whim then i suggest you stop posting on open forums

Hi guys, im having some trouble too and I need to phone someone ASAP so a speedy reply would be much appreciated.

Basically im not sure weather or not I've done something wrong here or what, seeing as though a few people seem quite angry with C.A.R.S.


I basically took out a trial with Love film, 2 DVDs, £12.99 package i believe, sometime in late june/early july. I cannot exactly remember the date.

When the trial ended you are automatically charged. By then i did not have any funds left on my card, therefore the charge failed. I didnt want it anyway i always planned on cancelling it. I still had the discs in my house, i returned them on the 15th of August. I kept it this long as i bought into the whole ' No late fees ' thing.

So my account was suspended anyway as they couldnt charge my card. I recieved this letter on the 8th of July.

Then i recieved a letter from C.A.R.S when i didn't return the discs. I cannot find that letter now which is a shame.

Finally i recieved another letter on the 11th of August from C.A.R.S, charging me £20, promting me to return the discs on the 15th. I had forgot about the 1st letter.

Also adding to the confusion was some Lovefilm guy opening a second account for me on the phone. Nothing major related, but i thought it was relevant.

I am going to phone Lovefilm, but do i have any legs to stand on to call of this debt ?

im gutted amazon switched to them! as they send random films. i cancelled my free trial coz of it. i wanted to cancel with lovefilm but then ill lose my 10% discount on amazon DVD purchases .

what happened to u happened to me with amazon, when i 4got to change ma card when i got a new one... they didnt charge me but said they will the following month if i dont update asap.

i really HATE that they have moved to LF, as they are TRASH!!!!!!

if u cancel the trial the day b4 its up u don't get charged. i didnt.

Ditto, they only send random discs if you don't have enough in your list (I think min is 10).

Jamie, I don't think you have any recourse. I have cancelled before, and they gave me a specific date to return, or I'd be charged for another month.

YEA random films on my list, even when my 'high' ones are in stock. instead they'l send me a 'low' one.

The ONLY way to properly cancel Love film is to remove all of the discs on your list (so they can't send you any more movies) and check the box that does not allow them to choose for you if your list is low.

Then cancel by phone and follow it up with an email. Do this well before the due date for your payment and you will be fine.

Try to squeeze one more rental out of them and they will 'do' you for another month.

Been on hold with them for 2 hours and 7 minutes for what they claim I owe - £10 to LoveFilm (which I don't - account canceled!)

So......just been sending them the same e-mail over and over as I wait - keeping them updated about how long I have been in queue and my position - 1st in line now! Whoop whoop! :rotfl:
