Hi,
Just got a letter from Creditlink Account Recovery Solutions charging me £46.47 on behalf of Lovefilm. This is outrageous of itself, but what's more outrageous is that I have to phone thier 0870 number to complain!
Can anyone give me some tips on how to find their landline number? I've tried saynoto0870.com, and searching their address on the internet but no luck.
The address is: Creditlink account Recovery Solutions Ltd, PO BOX 6520, Basingstoke, Hants, RG21 4UY.
Tel: 08700502190.
Btw, this amount is for my card expiring so they couldn't take a payment. I was busy moving house at the time so didn't check all the warnings they sent me. Fair enough, but still that should be for 1 month, £16 not £46?
Also I'm pretty sure my card wasn't about to expire. I suspect all this maybe becuase I used to be with Sainsbury's DVD which moved to Lovefilm so they're having technical problems. Anyone else has this problem?
AAArg hate them

I would imagine there is a £30 admin charge for this, there usually is after several warnings.
Cant say anything about the 0870 number, but I do know that if you write to them and say you are disputing the amount with Lovefilm then they cannot proceed any further. But it sounds to me like there's not much of a dispute you can make!0 -
We had the same problem with Lovefilm. I actually attempted to cancel our account but they took two further payments from us and kept sending us films.
I knew the card was about to expire but obviously didn't amend the details as we had tried to cancel the damn thing three months earlier with no success. After only three weeks they sent me an email saying it had been passed to a debt collecion agency and they had added a £30 fee.
This made me so angry as I was trying to get back the two months payments they took from me when I had cancelled. I called the 020 number on saynoto0870 and spoke to a really lovely lady who called off the debt and sent us a cheque for the two payments the next day.(such a relief after dozens of fruitless calls to the main customer service number)
Unbelievably though, three days later I got a call from Lovefilm offering us a half price for three months deal if we rejoined. LOL, as if I would go back to them after that!Membre Of Teh Misspleing Culb0 -
Hi,
Thanks for the replies. starlite where's that 020 number you mentioned? I can't find anything in saynoto0870.com for lovefilm. Also what do you mean I can send them a letter saying the amount's in dispute? They said on the email that I can't contact them anymore, only the debt agency?
And please can someone help me with the numbers? I only have access to a mobile at the moment and shudder to think how much it costs to call 0870 numbers on a mobile :mad:bad hair day...0 -
I have had a good look around and can't find a number anywhere. Definatly not on saynoto0870. I think it would be best to call them to dispute and then request a claim back for your phone charges. At the company where I work when someone has received lots of chages for phone calls to us through no fault of theirs we usually reimburse the costs.0

I've just had the same problem with being sent emails saying I need to update my card details.
I'd lost my card so hadn't kept up to date with everything.
And didn't want to pay seeing as I had another service I was using.
I'd been ignoring them until today when it said that if i didn't pay I would be referred to a debt agency.
Anyway I changed my details but I haven't yet been billed.
Is there a way to cancel the account and the DD before I get charged or do I just have to put up with it?0 -

Here are a few Lovefilm numbers - not the no you actually want, but I'm sure who ever answers will transfer your call to get you off their back

Ok, as I said previously I changed my card details and decided to grin and bear it. Today I've recieved and email saying now I've been put in contact with a debt collection agency even though I ammended my card details. I've checked and they're correct, there's no problem with the account so Lovefilm have done something wrong. I've sent them an e-mail explaining everything as I begrudge phoning their 0870 number again. Is there anything else I can do?
Thanks0 -
I've done some research and found this thread on digitalspy forums: http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/showthread.php?t=222095
It turns out they've been doing it to a lot of people. I've followed what people have said and now just have to wait for a response.0 -
I had the same problem, they sent me a letter for £40. All you need to do is ring lovefilm on 0808 2000 193. They are very reasonable, and agreed to call CARS off. Don't get scared into paying up, call lovefilm, and they will probably sort it out for you.0
