this isn't a thread for consumer questions - you need to put it here (blue text is a link)
maybe after you have read the top two stickys about how to post.

    Hi,

Just a quick note to say I used your template for lost earnings for 3 failed deliveries from Argos, with a positive outcome!

They compensated me 2 working days and even for the numerous phone calls i had to make to their customer service team

    Thank you MSE.com!

I called Primus back in Feb 2012 to switch just line rental which they said they would but they also switched calls without permission. I had my calls with Sky where I had anytime landline and international calls to 20 countries free. So I continued make such calls and over a period of 2.5 months I was charged close to £400! When I complained they cancelled my contract with penalties and apologised that it was a new trainee who had given me erroneous info! (in short that amounts to contract by misrepresentation). When I complained some more they waived the penalties. But they are still not ready to refund me for the incorrect charges for calls. They are members of the telecommunications Ombudsman so I have now lodge a complaint with them and await the result. But in short I have found that Primus is rather unfair and will keep you waiting and doesn't care about refunding you not because they can't afford it but because they probably hope I will go away fed up - but they are mistaken!! Any advise?

If, like me you've suffered under the abysmal "service" offered by HMRC you can complain to The Adjudicator's Office. Be warned. They only take on cases after the HMRC complaint's procedures have been exhausted. It's taken me eight months to get to the end of the HMRC procedures so far, (even though they have admitted incompetence). So it's a toss-up whether you or the procedures become exhausted first.
The bottom line is that government departments such as the HMRC get away with pathetic levels of accountability and incompetence that simply wouldn't be tolerated outside the public sector, while politicians do nothing about it.icon13.gif

Wouldn't this post be better on the Income Tax board?

Or maybe even Praise, Vents and Warnings?

Well, I thought about that, but not all disagreements referred to Ombudsmen originate within the private sector. I think we have a right to the expect same level of service from public and government agencies like the HMRC - but we don't get it, and the government seems totally complacent about it. The Adjudicator's Office is the avenue for disputes like these.
