I took out car insurance online yesterday, and cancelled it today. They are charging me a £25 cancellation fee, but I thought I had seven days to 'cool off'? I told them this and they said that in their terms and conditions there is a £25 cancellation fee.
The insurance wasn't due to start until end of August and they haven't even taken the money out of my account yet.
Can they do this?0 -
Your next step is to post a new thread in the board that you replied to this one on, read the post above yours, #219, you have replied to a thread that says in it's heading, "( DO NOT ASK CONSUMER QUESTIONS HERE).
Ergo, same board, top left "New Thread" (blue button).
.
Funny how people find it so difficult to read.

Hi
I purchased a wii board and game back at the start of July for my nephew. The goods were never coming and never coming, so I requested to cancel my order and ask for my money back from gamesbasement. This was on the 1st August. They sent me an email saying that my money would get refunded within 5-7 days. Needless to say 5-7 days came and gone, so I emailed them to say I hadn't received my refund yet. They emailed back saying they are processing it but according to their T&Cs they have 30 working days - not including weekends - from the day I cancelled my order to process my refund. I worked this out to be 9th September, so In the last week I have been emailing them to see if they can give me a date for processing my refund and had no response to any of my last 3 emails. I have tried the number on their website but I only get a message of a recorded voice saying to email to get in touch!! I am at the end of my tether and don't know what else to do?? HELP!!! :mad:0 -

Hello
Can anyone lend any advice. I recently bought diet pills over the internet. I then came to my senses and returned them along with sending a cancellation via email. There were two different pills that you had to take together. When i cancelled i only mentioned one lot. I have therefore been charged for the second lot of pills although i have sent them back and the company is refusing to refund since it was over the 14 day notification period (when i noticed that i had been charged for the second lot!)
Any advice please
Thanks0 -

Hey there!
I just wanted to ask a quick question about returning items that become faulty and I'm sorry in advance if this is in the wrong section...
The store I work in sells new games consoles and our refund policy is if a faulty item is returned within 14 days (or 28, I can't quite remember) then we will swap the item or refund them if we can't.
However, I have been told that if the item becomes faulty after this time then we are to refer them to the manufactuer as we aren't allowed to give refunds/swaps. (So, if after 6 months an XBox360 has the red rings of doom it's the problem of Microsoft)
Is this true? I've looked on the main site and there's lots of info about items sold to you that as faulty... but what if it becomes faulty (i.e. stops working); what rights are there and who is responsible?Proud to be dealing with my debts!0 -
Selphie, the first thing you need to do is read the title of this thread.
