If she's given you keys could you go round and clean etc? Maybe even hang curtains? Have you got her number so you could check with her? In her position, as you've exchanged, I'd be happy for you to do this. What a nightmare though

    Yes a nitemare GG.

Thankfully after our last visit when it was dirty, she's left the house immaculate. There's no curtain rails ( atm ) so I can't do that. she has vertical blinds up which will do until we get curtains up.

That is a good thing then, as you were a bit worried about that weren't you.

Shame it is not as you planned, but there are some small mercies there. And Monday should be less stressful as you will have the whole day to go at it.

I am glad we are happy where we are, as moving is not easy, and I would get so stressed. Hope you manage to salvage some weekend. xx

I'm back and very , very happy in our new home.:)

The moving day was extremely stressful. It took 2 luton van and 3 stuffed car journeys to complete ..it's a good job we were only moving local as we didn't get out of the other house until 4 and the vicar was going mad! He made the situation very stressful with his contanst calls and texts. I wouldn't mind but did he really think that we wasn't doing our best to move? He wasn't moving in anyway as he's renting it out. I would have handed the keys over to the estate agent but he owed me £90 for 2 radiator cabinets that I was selling. I was tempted to leave the £90 but with losing the money for the van for not moving on the Friday due to his solicitors mess up I couldn't afford to so I swallowed my pride. He really is a class 1 pillock though and even wanted me to sign a document to say that his metre reading was correct. I laughed at him and told him that I'd already said No to this on the 'phone as I'd already submitted my readings so why ask me again!

P.s a tip for moving TRY not to with 2 babies as they don't like seeing their house with no furniture in!

We then had a leak in the new house at 9pm when toilet water was dripping through the kitchen ceiling. We'd used the toilet once at about 6. The old owner said she knew nothing about it. We suspect that they had been using the downstairs toilet as they knew that upstairs had a problem. So we had to call out a emergency plumber the next day ( Mr Blues Uncle luckily enough ) and we then put it to her to pay half at family rate = £50. She did. I feel though that it was all a little crafty.

BUT apart from all that, we are all very happy and settle and it feels like home.

Money wise we are WOW..I daren't even write it down as we are sooooo overbudget with buying paint and stuff but for now who cares ! ( well me but we will have to just knuckle down and spend less on other things ) getting planting in for this year is more important at the moment so that the back garden is more private than it currently is. We'll get there it will just take time.

I need to do a new spreadsheet when things are more settled and work out the daily interest, if I can even just pay one days worth this month then it's something to get started with. :o
