Is my husband entitled to my house?

Do you have a joint bank account with your hubby? If so, you might find it better if you don't and he gives you a set amount each month that you know will cover everything you will need to pay for, then anything else he has left, he is free to spend on himself.
You mentioned you havent been married all that long really and I do feel you need to tackle this and sort out a routine for the money that you can both feel happy with, otherwise you'll end up falling out and hating each other long term.
Good luck

No we don't have a joint bank account. We are totally financially separate because of his previous problems with debt. We would never have been able to get a joint mortgage because of his poor credit rating and I did not want my rating to be affected so I am not and never will be financially connected. He does give me a certain amount each month now, to cover half bills but if any work needs doing on the house, I pay because I am the only one capable of saving something. Like I said, it just frustrates me that he doesn't think about the need to buy food in the last 2 weeks of the month and I feel like the mother of a naughty child telling him I might not feed him to teach him a lesson. I do love him but its all getting a bit tiresome now.... and I'm probably getting a bit petty with all the frustration of it! Oh well, we live and learn.
