Hi moanymoany,
I've added your link the main 'old style hobbies' thread so it doesn't get lost as it may be useful to others looking for help.

I was clearing out the hobby room I share with my mother - and sighing at the volume of sewing and craft paraphenalia which abounds in there and wondered what other hobbies you Old Stylers might have?
I like:- Making cards - mainly for Christmas
- Cooking
- Gardening
- Sewing clothes
- Upcycling old clothes such as jeans - this is becoming an obsession!
- Making handbags from preworn denim, old belts, leather jackets, etc
- DIY and Home decorating
- Making curtains and cushions
- Reupholstering furniture
Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Hi angeladavis,
My Old Style hobbies included cooking, cardmaking and gardening. There's an earlier thread on what hobbies other Olds Stylers enjoy that might interest you:
Hobbies/Crafts and MoneySaving ...
I'll add this thread to that one later to keep the replies together.

I was clearing the garage out before Christmas and there's boxes of old nails; screws; hinges, all sorts of metal. When it gets a bit warmer to work out there i'm going to start and try to make sculptures, perhaps as garden ornaments. I already have a small welder. Who knows, when i'm famous .......Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

I dabble in all sorts - card making, cooking, sewing, scrapbooking (paper and digital) and been getting into altered art projects too, altered journals etc. I love working with paper and fabrics. I used to be an avid gardener but don't have a garden now
and not so mobile so I don't do as much carpentry, decorating and diy as I would like. Last autumn I treated myself to some tarot cards and been learning about them
I worked for many years in dtp and graphic design and still do some for local charities. I'm trying to wean myself from the pc though, so keeping that to a minimum if I can.
I'm also researching my family history and about to restart OU in Feb - I can't imagine why people think they'll be bored when they retire - thre's never enough hours in the day... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

I machine sew clothes & household stuff, cross stitch, knit & I'm learning how to crochet. I like working with fabrics and seeing how everything goes together to make a 'whole'. I would love to get into card making but the cost of things and the extra stuff in the house puts me off0

Scrapbooking is my first love, then knitting, blackwork, crochet (blankets and easy stuff), a bit of cardmaking (but mainly at Christmas), sewing (but I don't make my own clothes anymore), gardening (when there aren't any frogs about) and reading.Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0
