  • Are you eBaying still, jwil? Last weekend ran away with me. But I spoke to OH about it last night and we are going to set up some kind of eBay production line this comings weekend and just go for it! Most expensive items first. We have so much stuff, brand new, that I'm sure would make perfect gifts for someone else. One man's trash... So time is of the essence now in the run up to Christmas.

I think the money OH owes me is probably going to end up going on Christmas after all (booked all those trains ), but I KNOW I can recoup it, plus a lot more, if I could just get all of our surplus stuff sold. I'm still determined to get my Halifax card under £2500 by the end of this year but my BT has gone through and added £80 to the total, so for the first time, I've just had to amend my signature for a + instead of a minus -. It's right in the long run though. And I won't beat myself up too too much if I don't meet my end of year goal - so long as it's all gone by May, which I still feel on track for, I'll be happy.

In other news, I found a simple butternut squash and sweet potato soup recipe online that I'm going to make for dinner tonight, and am really looking forward to it. Nothing like homemade soup on a cold winter's night!

Yes, I've just added on another 20 items to turbolister today, so will get those uploaded soon I expect. I've also got some relists going out later, so there's a few more items leaving the house!

I should really be doing more, but cannot be bothered right now!

  • Well, another weekend has run away without me doing any eBay listings, so I've taken the bull by the horns and booked a day off work as holiday ( the things I do for debt-busting these days!) in a couple of weeks' time to crack on with it. I'm determined to get a certain number of items listed in good time for Christmas as they're brand new and present-perfect.

I STILL haven't heard anything from eBay re my appeal on their unfair granting of a refund, though. It's been 3 weeks now... They said it would take 48 hours! I'm tempted just to pay their stupid £89 and have done with it, but it's absolutely the principle of the thing - he got his item, he shouldn't get his money back too! A delay in customs = not my fault.

In other news, I had a disastrous foray into central London this weekend on the pretext of picking up some bits and bobs for Christmas. The crowds were just so hideous, it was super-stressful and impossible to browse and enjoy. So I think I'll be sticking to shopping online from here on in. Have got another couple of bits, all via Quidco - think I'm more excited about seeing my Quidco balance grow than I am about the pressies this year! They've got a really good Body Shop offer on at the mo: 15% cashback and a free £5 gift voucher plus free standard delivery. I always use Body Shop blusher and I'm due a new one, so bought myself one and will put the voucher towards my sis's present. :T

That stinks about ebay, they can see that he's got the item now, keep hassling them if need be.

I hate crowds, so try not to venture into town too much at this time of year, I much prefer online shopping. That's a good bodyshop offer, I don't think I need anything though, shame!

Good luck with the listing when you have your time off!

  • Thank you!

Speaking of Quidco, since I joined in September I've made £45 (less £5 membership) and received £15-worth of vouchers. Will earn some more, too - OH wants Xbox games for Christmas [need a *rolls eyes* smiley] and there's a voucher and cashback for Zavvi I plan to use a bit closer to the time (in case he changes his mind!)

That's my personal pep talk for the day; Christmas costs are mounting. Bah! Lucky I love it :xmassmile

    :xmastree:I love Christmas too :D

I don't use cashback sites enough, maybe that is something I should focus on next year.

  • Yay, thanks for the tree! Will be putting my RL one up on Wednesday :j

Just paid £50 for this month off my Halifax card and signed up to the make £10 a day in December challenge. I listed a few things on eBay at the weekend to ease myself into it! If I really could make £310 in December then I'd get my Halifax card under £2500 by the end of the year - which I originally wanted to do - and have some surplus to cover the generally higher costs of spending/socialising/etc through the month.

    Bring it on!

    Bring it on indeed!

I might put my tree up at the weekend, we are off to the Christmas Markets in Bath on Saturday so that might inspire me!

  • Christmas markets sound lovely! I had to cancel my romantic weekend in Bath last weekend at the last minute because OH had a stinking cold  Lost the £45 on train tickets too! But he really wasn't well at all, bless him, he's still off work and looks like the man off the Benilyn advert.

I did manage to pick him up a designer silk tie for his stocking for £9.99, reduced from £90, yesterday so that made me feel a bit more :D

Have currently got 20 items listed on eBay (seriously out of my comfort zone, but needs must) and want to aim for another 10-20 next week. The currently lot are at £59 already, with 3-5 days left to go, so I'm happy with that. And have already made £19.97 for the £10 a day December challenge through bank interest and a Quidco payment :T

Uh oh. I just want to eat and eat when it's cold like this. I've spent £9 on coffee and snacks this week in Pret. But I'm determined not to spend any more :o
