I don't need the code ............ yet but the battery warning came on a couple of days ago so I am preparing for the inevitable change of battery. Aha I thought just check my paperwork for the audio code. No, it was never given to me when I purchased the car. Ford Main Dealer doesn't want to know. I'll come on here and realise I need the serial number. Can anyone tell me how to get the serial number of a radio (Sony CD DAB) without taking the radio out, thus removing the power and then needing the audio code when you put it back in!!!

Press & hold 6&1 or 6&2 together. The serial should then clearly come on the screen in the form M123456 or V123456. If not then the unit will need removing from the dash.

I pulled out my Vauxhall radio as I was told the code was on a sticker, thinking of course it was wired in. So I could just put it back after I found it out before I changed car battery. unfortunately the sockets are fixed to car so now I have SAFE. can anyone help me please. there are a shed load of number on the stickers so not sure what I actually need. its a CDR2005(E) no. 24 441 224 vdo 330886636 any of that useful to find out the code please?

Many thanks for your reply. It is indeed 6&1 together and loads of useful (to somebody) information appears. There is what appears to be a serial number but it is long and finishes with V000615. The info does not stay on screen long enough to write it all down but it appears to be date of installation, type of unit and revision number, USB number and other stuff including another date - last year. Hey Ho back to the drawing board.

^^^ I've looked at that web site, thanks. I need to be sure that number I input is correct, else it is a waste of money. The serial number I saw was a very long one just happened to end with V000615. Is this the normal format? I would have thought that we would be well passed 615 Sony radios by now.
