Car Radio Unlocking

Thanks! At the risk of sounding stupid, my number keys only go up to 6. Are there instructions somewhere for entering the code?
My apologies. I have looked again at that security number.
It is for units that are VIN coded where the radio has to be electronically linked to your car.
This is a job for a Main Dealer or a Radio Decoding Service.

Not a problem. I'd suspected that from something I read on another site. Thanks for trying.0

Thanks molerat, it doesn't work so guessing someone must have changed it along the way, looks like a trip to the garage after all0

Highly unlikely that the code has been changed. Where did you get the serial from, if not directly from the unit then it cannot be trusted. What model /year car is it ?Try pressing 1&6 or 2&6 together, the serial may show up on the screen clearly in the form M123456 or V123456, don't assume that a series of numbers are the serial and add a letter. Failing that it is quite easy on many models to pull the radio out using coat hangers or keys from ebay for 99p.
