Check you have the correct serial No. and serial No. is posted correctly, if you have found the serial No in the vehicles literature may not be the correct No. for the radio fitted.

The serial number is on a sticker on the side of the stereo

It won't let me upload a picture of the sticker with serial number on it but the serial number I have posted is correct :-/

7839 is the correct code fop M013109 are you seeing 7839 in display when you press 5 do not keep entering a code that does not unlock the radio as tries are limited.

Yes, I see 7839 in the display, I only tried twice as I know the stereo will lock with repeated attempts. Any ideas why it just reboots when I press 5 ?

No if serial No. is correct then radio may have been recoded, check the letter is M.

Yeh serial is definitely M, what can I do now ?

This stereo is a replacement I got for my own stereo as the one in my own car says LOCKED after I got someone to change the battery and he must have entered too many codes :-(

Well it would look like the code is not correct for the radio, but is definitely correct for the serial No. LOCKED can be reset only with special software and hardware which I have but do not use much. maybe the wrong sticker on radio have you tried the 6 & 1 buttons press together or 6 & 2 together the radio may display the serial No. this only works on some models.

The radio must have a permanent + supply and a supply from the accessory line if the permeant supply is not present radio will not hold code.

Ok scrap the new radio I got, what software or hardware do I need to sort my own stereo ? The one that says LOCKED ?

**edit** the new stereo I have, I have it powered up in my office, I have a 12v supply attached to pins 15 & 16 and an earth going to pin 12 so that should be ok ?
