I have just bought a vectra and had to change the battery, obviously now the radio will not work. No code given - please help

The serial numbers on the panel are:
    1 614 438 Philips
    GM 90 506 176
    >PA6 - GF15<

    Thanks
The radio has to be removed from the dashboard

Then quote the 14 character Serial Number beginning GMxxxxxxxxxxxx found stamped in the metal casing

    0782 is the correct code
    PHILIPS RENAULT CODE ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS

FOR CARS WITH A STEERING WHEEL REMOTE CONTROL

(Note :If you don`t have the [ ¬ ] button then push the thumbwheel in and some will have an [ A¬ ] button )

Turn on the radio and the display will show 'CODE'

Use the Steering Wheel Remote Controls for code entry.

Press the [ ¬] button then rotate the thumb wheel for the correct first digit
Press the [ ¬] button then rotate the thumb wheel for the correct second digit
Press the [ ¬] button then rotate the thumb wheel for the correct third digit
Press the [ ¬] button then rotate the thumb wheel for the correct fourth digit

If the correct code is now shown on screen,
press and hold the [ ¬] button for up to 10 seconds to store the code

IF THERE IS NO STEERING WHEEL CONTROL , THEN USE THE PRESET BUTTONS ON THE RADIO

Press the First Preset Button repeatedly for the 1st digit to be displayed
Press the Second Preset Button repeatedly for the 2nd digit to be displayed
Press the Third Preset Button repeatedly for 3rd digit to be displayed
Press the Fourth Preset Button repeatedly for 4th digit to be displayed

Then press and HOLD Preset button 6 for 10 seconds to store your code

(Note :Some radios use Preset Button 5 to store the code )

Thank you so so much for your help!!......

Before I put a code in the display shows '0000' thanks to your help I can now enter the code that you have given me but when I do and i hold the button to store the code it then comes up saying 'CODE' and it beeps if I try and do anything until after about 5-10 mins when it goes back to the '0000'. Should it be doing this? Im sorry to be such a pain but need music again!! xx

Leave SWITCHED ON ...UNDISTURBED for as long as it takes to automatically reset itself

This may take an hour or longer
  • Hi RegWorts, I hope you can help me also, I am due to sell the car tonight, to buy my mummymobile. We have removed the handsfree kit and it is now asking for the Radio Code, Peugoet and all the garages that have worked on the car are being unhelpful.

The car is a Peugeot 206, with a factory fitted stereo. The numbers on the rear of the stereo are:
    CL0410X0022593
    Model: PU-2325A

I hope you are able to help

    kindest regards

    Amy
