so! 1, where did you get the serial from? If the car paperwork, then never trust this, remove the unit and check the number on the back.
2. If the numbers match then possible the radio been re-coded in the past, if so afraid you going to have to get it re-coded again.
Silly question - are you entering the code properly?

Late Four Digit Ford Radio Codes (no SELECT button)

ie. Ford 3000 Traffic, 4000RDS, 5000RDS, 6000RDS, 6006E, etc

Switch the radio on and the word CODE should appear in the display

Repeatedly press button 1 until the correct first digit of the code is displayed.
Repeatedly press button 2 until the correct second digit of the code is displayed.
Repeatedly press button 3 until the correct third digit of the code is displayed.
Repeatedly press button 4 until the correct fourth digit of the code is displayed.
Once the code has been correctly selected on the radio's display, press button 5 to enter.

If CODE does not appear immediately, press the SELECT button momentarily, and CODE should then appear on the display.

I have a Ford Focus and have the code for my radio but when I switch the car on the word 'code' does not come up on the front, instead it says R15pjp. Did get 'code' come up yesterday, typed code from the book that I have and it went back to wait and a time out. Can someone PLEASE tell me what is going on with it. Ford were not helpful and I begrudge spending money on it. Seems like a way of getting money out of me!

R15PJP is the reg of the car it came from. Remove the radio from the dash http://www.fitaudio.com/?View=entry&EntryID=35 and post the M****** serial here.
