Hi,
Just picked up a 6000CD, to replace a 5000 which keeps going silent and asking for the code every few minutes, with a serial number of M283084.
Any help with a code for the 6000CD or hints about what might be wrong with the 5000 greatly appreciated.

Hi,
My girlfriend's car battery died over the weekend and the radio has gone. She's not confident enough to try and take it out herself to get the serial number, and I'm not around until the weekend.
Does anyone know how to get the serial number without taking it out?
It's a '57 Ford Ka, and the radio is the 6000CD AUX RDS EON model (so I'm told).
I've read that you could hold down '6' and then press '2' (or '1'), but it doesn't have a '6'! It's got a headphone socket in its place.
If the only way is to take it out (or this is a sign that the serial number isn't going to start with 'M'), could someone let me know please?
Thank you very much!0 -
Holding the 2nd and 6th button down only works on the ford cars with the 'split' fascia.
I think its the 4500 model. If your radio looks from the front just like a one piece, you have to remove the radio from dashboard.0 -

THANKS
When you turn on the radio you will get ---- or 0000 you start with the first digit and press the number1 button the number of times to get the first digit.
Repeat for the next 3 numbers using buttons 2,3,4.
Then once the code is displayed, press 5 to confirm.
