Unfortunately the majority of SIEMENS/VDO codes (including yours) will NOT be available for free (or cheap) from anywhere on the Internet as access is required to the original factory database…which is not commercially available..

Try your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Shop (who are normally the cheapest option) who will connect it to a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM)

Thanks, any idea of the rough cost of this? As i've only bought the car today I'm a bit annoyed (should have checked it!!). Might get the car sales place to sort it out / refund me for the cost.

It all depends on how greedy they are!.

If you have a local Car Radio Store who decode radios then the usual sort of cost is £15 / £20 and they`ll do it while you wait.using a laptop.

Your local Main Dealer may charge anything from free up to £30 to look it up on the original factory database.(Worth ringing around various Main Dealers for the cheapest quote)

A larger professional Decode Service may also have access to this original factory database and charge from £10 to £30....but this is usually non-refundable if it fails to work in your radio because it has been recoded.

V serial codes are only available from Ford or a pro decode shop. Time to open your wallet I am afraid.
