I've no idea how I would go about removing it, is this the ONLY way the code can be determined as there are websites claiming to be able to provide codes based on VINs alone?
They are based on the assumption that the radio fitted on the production line is still fitted and that the serial was correctly recorded. I know that my Rover came brand new from the showroom with a different radio to what was fitted on the build line. You pay your money and take a chance.

    How to remove it http://www.fitaudio.com/?View=entry&EntryID=22

Yes...there are sites that can provide codes from VIN numbers ....but you will have to PAY for this information..(normally with no refund guarantee )

On here, if it is possible , the code is calculated for FREE from the Serial Number found on the radio.

At least on here , if the code we give you does not work, it`s not cost you anything so it`s always worth finding out how to remove the radio from the dashboard.
  • 9739 could be good

    Thanks ScottishSapper,
I tried but it beeped and went back to CODE
I checked the serial again and made a mistake, sorry, the code above the RN code is T0P237; would that matter?

< Anyone need a Ford stereo code? I'll tell you it for free! Just need serial number and model of stereo...

I can only do Ford stereos. Most other makes are a nightmare

    Note FORD STEREOS ONLY

    NO PEUGEOTS, ROVERS, VOLVOS ETC.

    ONLY FORD

    FORD FORD FORD

(did I mention I can only do Fords?)
