Grundig codes are not calculated , but are looked up on a database.
Unfortunately this Serial Number SEZ2Z6E3130883 is not listed on the only commercially available database so will have to be obtained from your Main Dealer or by using a Radio Decoding Service (who will read/recode your radio by connecting a laptop the memory chip (EEPROM ) )
thank you for trying anyhows
have spoken to the dealer and they want £35 for doing it
would it be possible for you to describe how exactly this is done as i have found the radio decoding software which is available for grundig but am unable to fathom it
i have an obd 2 serial lead which can connect to the vehicle if needed
my e mail address is dualmono21@hotmail.com
once again thank you for your efforts

We have been looking for the code for our radio for months after our mechanic disconnected something to do a repair. I've looked at the online decoding websites and they want to charge £25 for it. I was wondering if anyone could help us please?
The serial number is GM050011178546
The radio is VDO CDR500 and the car is a Vauxhall Astra.
Any help would be appreciated.

Try your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Shop (who are normally the cheapest option) who will connect it to a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM)0 -

It is not really a straightforward task unless you have some experience of electronics

If this is the same as the one you paid for, then make sure that the Serial Number M031558 is the one on a label on the radio casing ( as the number in the car documents may not be correct)0 -
