Unfortunately the majority of SIEMENS/VDO codes (including your CDR 2005) will NOT be available for free (or cheap) from anywhere on the Internet as access is required to the original factory database…which is not commercially available..

Try your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Shop (who are normally the cheapest option) who will connect it to a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM)

my brother inlaw disconnected his battery on his ford galaxy when he tried to put the code in his radio out of his hand book it wont accept the code the local ford dealer said it must be the wrong code any help please m048948 model no 5000

I had the same with my ford twice and the first time I made the mistake of going to a local garage who told me I had to £25 to get them to get the code.

Second I phoned the local ford dealer parts dept to ask how much they charge for giving me the code.... guess what ? they will give you the code for free over the phone .. as long as you can give your car number etc.
