Please help if possible.
My dad bought a Rover (second owner) from a dealer but now that he needs the radio code the guy's being less than helpful.

The really annoying thing is I used to have a link for a site that gave it to me the first time. Was the only place that did it and di loads of other radios for free. Even showed you a picture of your radio to confirm you had teh right model. Stupid puter crashed and I don't have the link anymore:mad: I can almost remeber my code too - just not quite

I needed a code for my Renault Megane so I called the local Renault dealer and they told me I had to go in person with the vehicle registration document and it would cost £15.
So I then called another Renault dealer on the other side of town. The girl asked for my car reg. no. which I gave her and she then told me the code right away!! No calling at the dealership in person and no charge!! What is that all about then?
Radio is now working fine after months of silence - woohoo!!0 -

First - turn the contack(car) key till the dashbord lights up. Then press and hold down the AS key on your radio(the radio must be off). Now press the power button of the radio while holding down the AS key. Wait till the radio beeps. Unpress the AS button.
The display will show 10 SAFE or a lower number(like 9 SAFE, 8 SAFE, etc.) The number indicates how many times someone tried to enter wrong code. If the number is differen than 10 you will have to wait some time till the radio allows you to enter the code. For 10 - 1sec, 9 - 1sec, 8 - 1 sec, 7 - 10min, 6 - 20min, etc. Note that the time runs only when the contact key and the radio is on.
When the radio allow you to enter the code you will be able to enter it with the digits from 1 to 4. Example the third digit is 8. You will have to press 3 eight times.
After you enter the correct code press AS again.
Note this is the procedure for Philips equped Vauxhall(Opel).0 -
