  • Just spent £15 for my ford radio to be decoded I'm gutted! Didn't realise you could get the codes for free!
You are lucky - I just got ripped off £40! Completely outrageous. And I did not realise you could get them for free. And so if you can get them for free they don't even deter thieves.
  • I have been searching the internet to try and find a good company to decode my car stereo for me, but none of them look that good, and the prices vary alot. My stereo is as below

    Siemens VDO CDR 500 (E)
    330886636
    No: 93 171 870
    Serial No. GM050052491264

Can anyone help me, with either the code to unlock the radio or giving me a reliable website that I can get the code from.

    Many thanks

Unfortunately the majority of SIEMENS/VDO codes (including your CDR500) will NOT be available for free (or cheap) from anywhere on the Internet as access is required to the original factory database…which is not commercially available..

Try your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Shop (who are normally the cheapest option) who will connect it to a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM)
