I had the same issue with an insurance company - I paid my brothers money but they paid a claim cheque to him, as the account was in his name and I was told it was nothing to do with me and they basically told me I was silly to pay for someone else. I told them they were quick enough to take the money regardless who it was from - are mothercare the same? I do not know who is right or wrong in this situation though - sorry! It cost us £25 to cash his cheque!
what a big mess0 -
If any of you can be bothered to chase this through, there was a similar misprice on the Argos website a while ago - on DSs I think - and there was lots of legal advise on there as to what constitutes the point where the contract is formed.
Argos ended up honouring orders as they'd taken money and confirmed dispatch. Quick search on MSE and I can't find it, but maybe some of you want to invest some time into finding it as it may help if you want to know where you stand.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Further to our previous emails, we are sorry for the inconvenience caused by our pricing error and are sorry you remain disappointed with our explanations to date. We have been very clear this was an unintended error and the item was removed from sale as soon as we became aware.
We would like to reiterate that Mothercare has the right, as explained in our terms and conditions available on our website, to withdraw our acceptance of an offer to purchase where your offer relates to goods that have been priced below that which we intended.
We have nothing further to add at this point.

This is the email they sent me when I asked if they would send a discount voucher or a small "I'm sorry gift" for the inconvience. I take it from the tone of the reply that they won't - what friendly customer service staff!!!0 -

I just checked all the car seats and it's not shown.
Hope those of you who ordered have it honoured"Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience." Anon.0 -
