I guess we will probably find out either way tomorrow - I ordered some other bits as well that I still had in my basket from when I was browsing the site earlier so if they come and the seat doesnt, or if I get any emails about despatch of everything except the seat I'll know from then. I do wonder if I'll be more likely to get one as I've only ordered one and with other items than those that have ordered multiple seats though?Mummy to

Rather you be told now than sit waiting for your delivery for the next week and moaning that it has not arrived and that it's not fair and how you are suing mothercare, etc....
Have I ordere one? No, there are none available for £9. Seeing as it is back on their site for the right price, it kind of indicates the wrong price was entered and tehre is no way they are going to lose £110 on each and every sale.
with respect, you say that 'some people need to get a grip on reality'. what you say may be true, then again, it may be not.
have you not described the functioning of mothercare, as you see it, in your head? if you've first hand experience, i doff my cap to you.
equally, we can imagine that, perhaps, mothercare has a large, relatively old stockpile to get rid of, either for the manufacturer, or themsleves. if this is the case, boy, have they shifted it.
we don't know yet, do we?
we're all just hypothesising.........0 -

Could well be old stockpile as it won Mother & Baby Gold in 2006.
Guess we'll find out soon enough & I won't be losing any sleep over it:D (shall be delighted if it comes though).Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0 -

Thank you sir, I accept. I run my own online business - I know how websites work and I know why you are not charged at time of purchasing online. Same reason I do not. I am human, I make mistakes. I'd honour 1 or 2 orders - but hundreds, possibly thousands then no, I would not, I could not.
Mothercare would be leaving themselves open to abuse by employees putting prices down for family to buy things if anyone could adjust prices, this will only be done by a few people. Ca you imagine 'yes sis, quick buy it now, I am putting the price of that £250 buggy down to £10 right now'. It happens. It is called Collusion.
Plus Mothercare would have to pay their card issuer for every payment they took and then for every refund they make - around 70p a time , in total, for each transaction - if they took the money at time of order. You have to pay for every transaction you actually process. When you fill in the screen you are authorising Mothercare to take up to that amount.
Mothercare have not taken your money, the bank has reserved until Mothercare either cancel the authorisation or take the money.0 -
I sadly missed out on this but I really hope some of you do get your orders - what a great bargain/glitch if you do
And if you don't, well it was deffo worth a punt.
But alas there are always some haters on this site that seem hell bent on drowning the hope and excitement of others.... sad!0 -
blue monkey thanks your last reply do makes sense
i will not get my hopes up on receiving the car seat
if i do get the car seat it will be great
if not is fine roll on to the next one x0 -

i'm sure you do. but, you're kind of missing the point (whilst going to unnecessarily great lengths to back up your own argument).
it's either a mistake, or it isn't. and neither you, or i, actually know, do we?
edit: i meant first hand experience working for mothercare. otherwise, your explanation of how their business functions is no more than an educated guess.0 -
